  7. There’s a party goin on in them there hills…… By the time October arrives, autumn will be well underway. The days will be shorter and the nights longer – the perfect setting for tidy’s 8th Weekender! Tidy will be setting up camp everyone’s favourite ranch - Prestatyn. So sit back and read on, as we tell you all about tidy’s Wild Wild West. Its time to saddle up folks, and get yourselves booked into one of the hotly sought after saloons at tidy’s 8th Weekender. For close to 72 hours, the tidy boys and girls are on course to bring you the finest Weekender to date. If you thought Weekenders 5, 6 or 7 were incredible, just wait till you see what’s in store this time. Forget the autumn rains and miserable skies, tidy are bringing a touch of western America to the dusty plains of Prestatyn. As ever, Friday night’s entertainment is crucial as it sets the scene for the rest of the weekend. Three arenas each night, packed to the rafters with the fiercest spinners tidy can rope in. Dedicated to their cause, Sheriff Mozart and Billy the Kid Pickles (Tidy Boys) will be donning their chaps, holsters and cowboy hats as they mount their steers in Arena One, aptly called Home on the Range. They’ll be backed up by the lawless Andy Whitby and pistol swinging Ian M, who makes a very welcome return to the Weekender. Across the way in Arena two, dubbed the Rockin Rodeo, and making his VDJ debut at the Weekender is the illustrious Ilogik. He’ll be delivering a set that’ll have you staring at the stars! Ben Stevens will be getting down, dirty and damn right vicious and with Captain Tinrib mounting the bucking bronco, you just know it’s gonna be hard as hell, and raw with it! Finally for those who want to kick back, swig a bottle of beer, toss a few shooters and take it easy to the sound of house, then head over to Arena 3, where the Trophy Twins, Oblong and Dan Doran will be on hand to serve it up. Saturday night is when the rough riders sweep into tidy town. The high and mighty are set to rip roar through arena I, they are: Teknical, Jon Rundell, Organ Donors, Amber D, Tidy Boys, Mark EG, Yoji Biomehanika and Radio 1’s hot new property Kutski. In Arena 2 and taking no prisoners are the Magnificent 7:- Barely Legal, Alphazone, Lee Haslam, Ed Real, Rob Tissera, Tara Reynolds and JP & Jukesy. Meanwhile if you’re into checking out the next generation of hardcore DJs, including Sy, Brisk vs Marc Smith, Recon and Joey Riot, then head to Arena 3! And so we come to Sunday - the day of reckoning! Across 3 arenas, tidy have enlisted the gun slinging talents of the Disco Brothers, Teknical, Anne Savage, Andy Farley, Paul Glazby, Ian Betts, John OO Flemming, Judge Jules, Lee Haslam, Simon Mu and Max Cooper! Seriously, is there any place on earth you’d rather be at? We think not. This is a Sunday line-up unrivalled and unprecedented! As with every tidy Weekender, daytime activities, for those with sense, and for those who never sleep take up 50% of the time. So in true Wild West style, expect the expected and of course with the Tidy Boys involved the completely unexpected! Saturday afternoon will see an unmissible show from some very special surprise guests as well as line-dancing with the 3 Amigos! For those who like a ride, tidy will be importing a sup’ed bucking bronco and hosting their own Rodeo. A set of quick draw heats, the hotly contested tidy football competition and a very special, and very twisted version of The Wild Wild Weakest Link. We’d love to tell you who’ll be donning the leather chaps and filling the shoes of Anne Robinson, but the two contenders are still fighting over it!! For fans of football, and we know there are hundreds, we’ll be screening the England match LIVE at the Weekender. This is the last Weekender of 2005, and it’s gearing up to be a very big one! We’ve done nothing but GIVE this year, and with this particular Weekender falling just weeks after our 10th birthday, we’ll be well in the mood to GIVE that extra bit more.

  12. Saturday 6th July 2002 - Sundissential @Academy, Birmingham Picked @James & @CreamyC up from their hotel in Birmingham around 10.45. Their hotel looked lovely & not unalike something off Faulty Towers! A (not so) short walk later & we arrived at the Academy. True to form, @Madders had kindly sorted our guestlist passes - big thank you to him. Security on the door was a bit tight - a police officer complete with sniffer dog were present and we saw a few people get sniffed & promptly searched & thrown out! Obviously club policy though. The club had a very simple, square layout with a huge dancefloor with the DJ box at the front right in the centre. The usual flame effect visuals and green lasers were being used & the sound system was top. Much improved on the DNA system. Not too much base but still quite punchy. The club has obviously had a bit of money spent on it with a new floor upstairs & from all accounts is to have a lot more money spent in providing more seating & improving the air-conditioning - it was far too hot (but then i had worn my PVC catsuit - BAD move!) The usual faultless set was played by @Andy Farley, an uplifting hard trance set played by Phil Reynolds (who looks like @FredTheBaddie!) and a blinding last set by Rob Tissera! The highlight for me had to be being allowed onto the stage to speak to @Andy Farley - top buzz! He was dashing off from Birmingam to play in Plymouth, then back to Birmingam for Insomniacz then up to Leeds for Sundissential North - busy bloke! We left at 4am (after being literally swept off the dancefloor when the cleaners came in!) to get a few hours sleep before Sundissential part 2!
