Is it legal to put up a mix ?

Is it legal if you put up a mix with a listing ?

>>>NO

Are there licence fees to pay ?

>>>YES

If you upload a mix, you can be taken to court unless you pay royalties to the labels whose tracks have been used

The good news however, is that most of em wont bother - seems only Tidytrax and the Next Generation labels (Next Gen/Blatant Beats/Stimulant Records) care about it, and will take action over it, in the hard dance scene (dont know about others tho)

Currently the PRS are trying to get it so clubs/DJs have to pay royalty to them if the tracks are played in a club! Madness.

clubs already pay whatever it is that secures rights to use tracks - dunno how it works, but it was brought up on the Tidytrax forums and apparantly its legal to use any music at a licensed venue
