that would be great hun - getting a lot of fresh interest through from people.

 

we've got about 10 people posting news now, 5 are doing this regularly.

 

i think liam is also going to help out on music reviews etc

 

i'll start pasting all the emails i get in here and see if anyone has any ideas as to what we can do for people

:blushing: Yeh no worries. Be nice to get this place alive & kicking again, well the whole scene tbh, as it seems to have taken a nose dive of late everywhere.

 

I have just updated the events & I am gonna try to keep on top of these now, if Liam can do the music side of things then that'l be fab as I am not too clued up on tunes etc anymore.

 

Now im on my own I do not buy tunes nor do I have a clue :blushing:

 

Need to get some more interest in the general forums again.

 

I don't suppose you have any cards left do you? As I now go out a hell of a lot more now im single again :happydance: See if I can get some handed out or added to flyer packs poss, maybe worth getting in touch with some promoters poss, see if we can maybe go back to having the web addy added to flyers & in return for posting & keeping there events up-dated on here... :uhm: I dunno who you have contact with now or not James.

Sorry for the delay - I've been away up north since last Thurs...

 

I'm really sorry to hear you are single again hun I didnt realise you and Tony weren't together anymore Let me know your MSN or Skype ID if you wanna chat etc.

 

All your ideas are great - sounds like you, me and Liam have some time on our hands again to try and get this place moving a bit so should be good. Quite a few people now adding content in the news etc, I'm just trying to build up a list of photographers and reviewers but its still proving hard to get anyone who can stick at it.

 

Several people have asked for cards so I'll get some more done but if you know anyone who can actually design a really nice new one let me know as I'd rather have them revamped before getting the existing/old design re-printed.

 

I know I've been fooking slow at getting anything done in the past but what Ive learnt is to take small steps and get a few things done each week - rather than attempt to do hours and hours of work each weekend (which i just dont have time to do anymore, and never really got us anywhere before anyway! lol)

 

Let's try and get us 3 at least talking again and between us i'm sure we can make a little progress. End of the day there IS still traffic to the site and there are still people who want to promote stuff and/or hear about events.

ps. I'm still looking around for a better way of adding events as the forum method (with manual moving to this week, past events) is far too outdated and doesnt work.

Whyn do you feel the events section doesn't work James? :uhm:

 

I think if it is kept updated weekly, which I am happy to do again, it works quite well. It is tidy & easy enough to navigate, don't you think...

 

How about popping a whats on & a add your name here?? :uhm:

 

Need to get the member bank built up like you say the interest is there with promoters etc, posting their events.

 

Or at least get more interest in the events section... :uhm:

Yep, sorry, what I meant when I said 'doesnt work' was that currently we have to manually copy events as follows ...

 

1) Promotor posts to Event Suggestions and Calendar

2) We manually move topics to 'This Week' when within current week

3) We manually move topics to 'Past Events' when events expired

 

Problems with this are;

 

1) Duplicated events in Calendar and Forum Topics

2) Reliant on manual movement by moderator/admin

3) Past events all lumped together (originally posted in a specific region, but this is lost when moved to past events)

4) User/member needs to go to both Event Suggestions and This Week in order to see whats on

5) No way for user/member to filter by category (e.g. trance/hardhouse/funky etc.)

6) No way to search / filter events by Venue/DJ/Promotion etc.

 

Basically it would be better if promotors posted the events Harderfaster Style, and this automatically builds the calender of events - i.e. a proper event listing - rather than straight posts in the forum. with proper categories associated

 

I've been thinking about this for a while but made zero progress. I've always come back to liking the idea of the (current) Forum Topic method as it encourages members to reply with comments / meet-up info - this would be lost if the events were migrated out of the forum into a read-only event manager.

Yeh just have a good think about it, I think the forum side of things with events works quite well & as I say easy to navigate & in all honesty is much neater than say HF, with HF its all in one spot & muddled up & you have to search etc, at least here you can click on where in the country/world & this weeks & see it all neat in front of you.

 

As I say have a think also of maybe asking/drafting an email to send to promoters asking if we could poss have the web addy added to their flyers & in return we will keep their threads up dated yada yada (w00t)

 

Most p0eople have migrtaed to that fooking DSI & TBH it's a horrible site tyo use, it is all yellow & all over the bloody place.

 

If I could navigate & work it out, id be on there spamming for CTW

 

ALso as I say think about some cards, even some old logo ones til we can come up with a poss new design, then I can hand them out, give them to people etc.

 

Also myself & Claire would probably happily help out with pics for events, I will have a word with her, she may expect free entry? Nort sure if we could work things out with promoters & the site again?? Not sure how you are wanting to work things James.

 

What has happened to Shaney also? Maybe look at a new team here, get the site built a bit & take it from there.

Now you mention it - I think you're right that the navigation is fairly simple here and perhaps its not worth changing too drastically.

 

I've got about 10 promotors emailing me regularly asking us to put stuff up and most of them ask for a logo etc to put in their eflyers etc - I have recently set up a directory on the server with all the logos in - I'll get a bulk email sent out to each promotor letting them know where the graphics are. We are definitely missing out at the moment as the logo is hardly anywhere, and most are happy to use it !

 

I need to get my arse in gear about the cards - ideally I want a professional graphic designer to create a new set (I might find out who people like Whitby use), but maybe for now I'll just get the old ones printed. For 10,000 its only about £100 !!! Again, REALLY missing out not getting these distributed. Guess we just need to think who to give them to.

 

Gallery is highest priority at the moment as there are several new albums to go up but I'm still configuring the new software - it allows anyone to register and bulk upload their own photos (current galleries (2 of them) dont allow this).

 

No problem with ANYONE getting free entry / guestlist - again promotors email me 2-3 times a week asking for reviewers/photographers and if we want guestlist - currently I'm not even responding - again a HUGE waste. No need to 'sort anything out with the promotors' - they are still emailing me very regularly - they never went away.

 

I think I'll set up a shared email account so anyone of us can respond to requests coming in ??? (support@clubtheworld.uk ?)

 

Not sure where shaney etc is - I think between you/me/liam we've got things covered.

Hi you two, just to let you know I am still about. Ive just moved house so have been really busy with that but im all sorted now. Just got back from 2 weeks in Ibiza aswell (which was ACE!) so am raring to go.

 

Glad to see you back about Lisa, from what you've said it appears theres been big changes in your life.........All good in your eyes I hope. (And is that a new hair do I see in your avatar??)
