CTW Members Geordiee99 Posted September 18, 2006 CTW Members Share Posted September 18, 2006 (edited) The mighty Frantic Residents CD series returns with 2 DJs back to back for the first time ever! 'The Saviour of Hard House' Andy Whitby goes head to head with rising star female DJ Cally Gage. Whitby and Gage are well suited to B2B DJing because their two styles compliment each other well. Andy with the hands in the air vocal anthems and monsterous hard trance riffs, Cage with the harder edged driving and darker moments. It seems strange that it’s the female offering the darker side but that’s what makes this pairing so unique and offers a broader reflection of the Frantic experience. This is in effect a night at Hard House Academy or Frantic condensed into a CD (with the exception of the brilliant PAs that are now very much part of the Frantic experience). There is also a great debt to the creativity of the hardcore producers paid with Matt Lee (Gammer), Dougal, Robbie Long & Stormtrooper’s contributions making a big impact. That said this is very much a Hard Dance album and in no way some kind of hybrid affair. This is all about the ground between house/trance and hardcore, that fast pumping energetic sound with tempos between 145-155 BPM that HardHouse and HardTrance has always been about. No other young guns are doing this better than these two gifted DJs at the moment and they are proving it on the dancefloors every weekend. Frantic, Nukleuz, Whitby, and Gage serve up a great mix in a great tradition. Uniquely this album is also due to feature as a download mix album on iTunes and most of the full length DJ friendly tracks will be available on all the leading download services including Trackitdown, Tidydigital, Audiojelly, IMOdownload, Xpressbeats, Junodigital, DJdownload, Beatport and many more! ANDY WHITBY “What makes Andy Whitby sets so special is a sincere joy in positive, vocal hard house, on-stage charisma and constant innovation. Listen to any of Andy’s sets or compilations and it’s obvious that the tricks – the loops, samples, pitch changes and live bootlegs are a fundamental part of why he lifts the roof off every time. He describes the Pioneer DJM 600, with its built-in effects unit as his best friend. Certainly no Andy Whitby gig is complete without a gaggle of bedroom DJs gathered around the DJ booth seemingly transfixed as he cajoles, coaxes and rings every drop of juice from every single track and every single mix. To us, he’s simply one the most exciting DJs to emerge in years…The Saviour of Hard House.†Duncan Dick, Mixmag Clubs Editor CALLY GAGE In just a short space of time, Frantic’s newest resident Cally Gage has become one of the biggest names in UK dance music. Since winning the Tidy Summer Camp DJ Competition in July 2004, she has achieved more than most DJs achieve in a decade. The Crown Princess of Hard House has got her sights set on the very top... Her invigorating blend of Hard House and Hard Trance combined with her cool and collected stage presence has earnt her a loyal and loving fanbase across the country and praise from some of the UK’s most popular club promoters. Her faultless mixing and ability to adapt to different clubs and set times have helped to ensure her status as one of the most popular young DJs around! Cally Gage is now firmly established as one of the leaders of the new school, and a headliner in her own right. But she’s only just getting started.... Both Andy & Cally will be touring the UK’s biggest and best club nights throughout August, September & October as part of the Frantic Residents 06 Album Launch Tour!
