Plus Tweak & Bleep!!

Lot 49 have been at the cutting edge of underground house and breaks for nearly 3 years now, led by the guiding hand of one of the industry's most influential artists, Meat Katie (Mark Pember). Pioneering their unique 'tech-funk' sound, the label worked with artists such as Dylan Rhymes, Elite Force, D. Ramirez, Rogue Element, Vandal, Jono Fernandez and 30hz. It is with great pleasure, therefore, that Spin Out is pround to host Lot 49's debut compilation launch at Herbal on May 12th, a global exclusive from one of our favourite labels and also good friends. The night will feature the man Meat Katie himself, plus appearances from labelmate 30hz and a producer who recently appeared on Lot 49 as a remixer and is a personal favourite of Mark's; Tobias Leutzenkirchen. In addition there will be performances from international Filthy Gorgeous resident Jamie Gittins, Pornobreaks & Z Audio producer DKS, Shoreditch breaks collective Tweak & Bleep and of course residents Caninesounds. All this plus free promo editions of his compilation to giveaway and a great free afterparty featuring some special guest appearances and this is unquestionably set to be one of the years clubbing highlights.

Headlining the event is, of course, Lot 49 boss Meat Katie (Mark Pember) himself, playing a selection of tracks from his new compilation plus loads of new material from his label. Mark Pember has been synonymous with Breakbeat since its inception, working with seminal breaks labels Kingsize, Bedrock Breaks and Fabriclive, but over recent years has merged breaks, house and techno into a new 'Tech Funk' fusion. His hi energy DJ sets and productions have garnered him support from virtually every avenue of the dance music scene, winning him fans from the worlds of house and breaks alike. Here he will be playing a selection of tracks from his compilation, giving people an idea of what to expect from this exciting new release.

The night is made extra special by the appearance of german techno supremo Tobias Leutzenkirchen's appearance, by personal recommendation of Mark himself. Over the past few years Tobias has built up an enviable profile for himself, releasing on huge german label Great Stuff and remixing the likes of John Aquaviva, Andrea Doria and of course Meat Katie. His productions have won him plaudits from the Electro, techno and house communities, but also converted fans from other genres with his subtle understanding of melody and intense production techniques. This year has seem him add sets at the Key and Turnmills to his already packed DJ schedule, so we are very pleased to welcome him to Herbal and to Spin Out.

James '30hz' Ginzberg comlpetes Room 1, as h is one of the latest editions to Lot 49's artist stable. With over 10 releases on his own label 'Vertical Sound' James has a fine pedigree and his debut EP on Lot 49, ‘The Space Age EP’ won huge support from across the industry. His single, ‘Mutton’ features on Meat Katie’s compilation and will be released as part of a compilation sampler later this year.

In room 2 we are pleased to present Jamie Gittins, Caninesounds and DKS. Jamie is the founder and resident DJ for Filthy Gorgeous, one of the worlds most highly respected clubbing brands. Started in Ibiza in 2005, the night has rapidly spread to win guest appearances and residencies in top clubs across the world. This summer Filthy Gorgeous returns to Ibiza where they have previously hosted parties with Mauro Picotto’s world reknowned Meganite club.

Caninesounds are Spin Out’s residents and the hosts of the critically acclaimed ‘Spin Out Sessions’ on Passion Radio. Their recent DJ schedule has seen them play at Audio in Brighton, Filthy Habit in Leeds and Empathy in Bristol. DKS is one half of the breaks duo, ‘Pornobreaks’ and part of the growing distribution network, Z Audio. His recent production credits have seen remixes for the Scissor Sisters and originals on FAT! Records and Square Music.

The final addition to the lineup is Shoreditch’s Tweak & Bleep collective. Recent nights including their 1st birthday at the Medicine Bar with Dylan Rhymes and playing host to Annie Nightingale, plus a number of events in Bristol and London. They have also started a new residency at Turnmills this April, hosting room 2.

With such a heavy lineup this is going to be a party not to be missed, and certainly not to be forgotten. Doors open at 9pm and we go til 3am, with a free afterparty afterwards. For guestlist enquiries email smcevoy@spinoutrecords.co.uk or call 07738 078027.
