CTW Admin James Posted May 13, 2002 CTW Admin Share Posted May 13, 2002 Me and Paul we were watching the F1 yesterday and EXTREEMLY ANNOYED by the way it finished... Wise words from D@ Pander (Paul) .... Letter to Ferrari & ITV from Paul ... Dear Team, With all the controversy surrounding Formula 1 you would think that the F1 teams and the administration would be trying to bolster and maintain the sports already flagging image around the world. Having just seen what I can only describe as a mockery of an Austrian Grand Prix, I feel totally and utterly robbed of the last 3 hours of my life. Rubens Barrichello was the best driver of the weekend by a country mile, outperforming everybody in both qualifying and the race. To have to give that race up must have been both soul destroying and heartbreaking for Rubens. I have been a Ferrari supporter for a long time now, but I have to be honest and say that it is scandalous decisions such as that which took place at this afternoons race that seriously bring into question my allegiance with the team. I support Ferrari because I like racing, as far as I am concerned, Ferrari have always been the best 'racing' team. I now begin to wonder whether or not it is even going to be worth continuing to watch Formula 1 if nothing is done to stop situations like this happening again. I cannot tell you how pleased I was to hear the crowd in the Grandstands voice their opinion at the result. They will have paid a lot of money to get in to see the race, and there is no doubt in my mind that they would feel robbed, I know I did, and I was only watching it from the comfort of my living room. Sure, I understand that in certain situations team orders need to play an important part of a race, and that at the end of the day the team has invested a lot of money etc.. etc.., but there has to be line drawn somewhere. Even though I am a huge Michael Schumacher fan, I cannot be certain that he had nothing to do with the decision making process that has gone on this afternoon. Michael is probably my favourite driver because of the way he drives, and I admire him for that. What people in Formaula 1 have to realise though, is that the world of Formula 1 does not revolve around Michael Schumacher. He may well be the highest paid driver with the most number of victories under his belt, but I wonder how many people will now begin to ask questions as to exactly how many of those were false victories. I would like to end this email by raising some questions that I would be extremely grateful if you could take time out to either raise within the program or at least reply to. I believe Michael said in the press conference something along the lines of: "Once the championship is secured then we can concentrate on some real driving" Then during the brief interview with Ross Brawn, Ross said: "Michael was told not to push, Rubens was told not to push, you can't really call that a race" How can Formula 1 justify statements like these to drivers, teams, sponsors and even more importantly, the viewing public, some of which would have paid good money to go to the track and watch the race live. Are Ferrari trying to tell us that they are not a 'Racing' team anymore? and to be honest, after a statement like that, what is the point? Why SHOULD we watch when teams are allowed to get away with farcical situations like that ? What can be done to stop this happening again, and more importantly to stop people from switching off Formula 1? I can certainly say that had I known that something like that was going to happen then I would not have sat down to watch the race. Best Regards Paul Anderson London. No sport is sacred anymore, DuMonde - I ENTIRELY agree with you mate - this is why I HATE football - I think the whole thing is one big joke purely driven by cash. Must admit there are no team games I like at all - I prefer sports where it is clear who is the winner and who is the loser. F1 used to fall into this category but since yesterdays events I'm not sure anymore!! HouseWhore - agreed on the money front ! CTW Admin James Posted May 13, 2002 Author CTW Admin Share Posted May 13, 2002 You see, if it were me and I was making loads of cash from the club I would RE-INVEST the money in the club in the form of giving out free shares (or discounted share options) to the fans who go regularly (i.e. those with season tickets). Is it just me or is the rest of the world full of selfish fuckwitts who are here for themselves, and themselves only. ANYONE WHO THINKS I AM TALKING [censored] AGAIN CAN F*CK OFF CAUSE I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF PEOPLE THINKING I AM FULL OF [censored] - I HAVE ALWAYS BACKED UP MY THOUGHTS AND IDEAS WITH ACTION AND I PROMISE I SAY WHAT I MEAN. One day, if CTW really kicks off and the top contributers on the site do end up running a club with me, I promise my disposable income will start going to a charity such as Children In Need.... CTW Members TidyTraxGrant Posted May 13, 2002 CTW Members Share Posted May 13, 2002 Im a born and bred Chelsea supporter and will never stop followin them, but football is 99% cash and coperate driven, its a fcukin joke . It aint fair to hard workin honest fans and little kids who pay £45 for a club shirt when the fatcats behind the clubs just change them next season . Fairness and respect to the fans --> BOLLOX Quote \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ TidyTraxGrant ' I haven't had a c*nt all night, drinkstable ' E Mail : Grant@ClubTheWorld.com MSN : TidyTraxGrant@Hotmail.com YahooID :TidyTraxGrant@Yahoo.co.uk 🇬🇧 http://www.DJLisaLashes.com

CTW Promotors CreamyC Posted May 14, 2002 CTW Promotors Share Posted May 14, 2002 Totally agree with every comment written here!! Football - Lost its edge years ago, proof is in the pudding the viewing figures are down for the FA Cup Finals! Formula 1 - Sadly, this is becoming all too predictable too, what a farce that was!!! Hopefully these fat bastard cats that earn the spondoolies will get their cumuppence soon!
