Club that got you into clubbing

Seeing Nice1bruvva's question (a quick question) gave me a thought ..

 

What was the first club you went to that got you into clubbin in a serious way ?

 

Mine was probly a monthly night at Uni called Love, it rocked. First real club was prolly the Room in Hull, Eat Your Words and Mantra, fantastic nights ...

just to repeat myself ....it was Hotdog in nottingham and I properly got into it about 3 - 4 years ago.

Had been to the odd good night b4 but the one that got me hooked was Satellite Club@Colosseum bout '96

It has to be The Drome in Birkenhead - I don't think anybody will remeber it !

 

I was 15 at the time and danced on stage for Carl Cox, Westbam and Marusha - oh, those were the days

Mine was Megatripolis at Heaven on a Thursday night about 7 years ago now!! [censored] i didn't realise i've been clubbing for that long.

started at free raves (destination, junction fourty, Exodus) about 7 years ago, then moved into the bristol underground hard house scene (infamous, heresy) then places like Sundissential and Cheeky Little Monkey.

 

now into prog house and deeper tribal stuff.

It was this club in The Algarve in Portugal - next to one of the best golf courses over there. I was about 15 and my sisters were about 16/17 and they sneaked me in. Everyone was so friendly and couldnt believe that I just went straight on the dancefloor. Got on really well with the DJ and I was definitely the youngest in there - I'm sure some looked at me thinking whether I should be in there or not - but because it was on holiday the laws were more relaxed.

 

After hearing the music and the smiles around I instantly fell in love with the whole concept, but sadly came back to the UK where I had sadly had to wait a further 2 years before I could get into any club - it ended up being Kiss (Batchwood, St. Albans) at the age of 17 for my sisters' 18th birthday and I loved it.

 

I then had about 4 years of hassle of not getting in because I looked too young, plus it was embarassing so I gave up. At about 23 I started getting in places without being asked ID and my confidence was boosted.

 

I have had about 3 seperate clubbing relationships with groups of friends because they keep growing out of it / settling down. I dont intend to EVER give up clubbing - just move into different styles of clubs.

Well technically my first club visit was back at the ledgendary quadrant park all nighter back in 1990,although for a speedy,baggy arsed stone roses kid Im ashamed to say I was'nt immediatly overwhelmed.

Finally saw the light in early 92 at progress,derby before cutting my jip over the road at rennasiance.

Ahh heady days indeed.

i basically started gettin into the scene at about 16, u get into pubs with music playin then before you know it, your at local clubs, then u gradually acquire a musical taste and get into that community .

My first club was an under 18's about 4 years ago in Guildford called Empire (it was my first real job to!) it was a joke when I look back at it now but I loved every minute of it when I was there, and although it was under 18's that was deifnetly what got me into he scene, then garage became big and all the rude bwoys exploded and I stopped going, coz like most things revovling around garage they can [censored] any good night up!

The first club I went to was called "Fifth Avenue" and it was fan-blooming-tastic peeps! Unfortunately when the great Creamy left the local shores for the London scene Fifth Avenue sadly went downhill! It had to re-invent itself as a new club with a "make-over" called The Venue, whoooo! Needless to say there was no makeover whatsoever and was exactly the same as before!!!

 

Sadly all those distant memories from the great days of Creamy The Pulling Machine are well and truly over! Suprisingly The Venue became a garage club and shut the total [censored] down for good back in December last year - GOOD ! It was completely re-furbished and made into a Jumpin Jacks which I'm told is Jumping [censored]! Well, no change there then!

First club I ever went to was some tiny one near Barcelona, Spain, I was only just turned 14!

First regular club night was at The Opera House in Tottenham a few years back in my garage days.............................

uhhh mine was this shitty garage club called batchwood in st albans!!!

 

unfortunately been going there since i was 14!!!!

 

and i still get dragged along to it now!!!!
