can any1 give me any tips or advise on clubbing overe there? also where are the best places to go in canada and america? do you have many cyber kids? do you have anything similar to the global gathering or summer sound system?

i have so many questions - any advise would be great! im into trance/hard trance and plan on going over next summer.

Toronto and Montreal are about 5 hours drive apart. Both are fun. I know more about Montreal tho! Clubs are usually open until 10:00 am, and they don't sell alcohol (some have a 'bar' attached you can go to before 3:00 am)! I'd say where ever you go, you don't need to worry about what you're wearing. Very mixed crowd all around, so if you want to go full on....go for it!!!

 

Here are some websites for Montreal clubs and listings:

 

514productions.com - seems to have a good calendar going with large events listed aswell as the usual who's coming.

 

aria-nightclub.com - good younger crowd, always a good night!!

 

clubsona.com - one of the oldest clubs in Mtl - banging tunes with Lafleche as the Friday night resident!!!!

 

Stereo Nightclub is another...can't remember their web address at the mo'! But, they have the BEST sound system in Montreal! Blow your mind!!!! No joke....

 

A good place to go and get clubbing flyers is clothing shops and dj stores on St. Laurent. If you don't have online access when you come into town, get to St. Laurent!

 

ravemontreal.com - forum for clubbers in Montreal. Only drawback is that it's mainly French! Go there and go to 'evenements'. Lists what's happenning and where including outdoor summer parties!!

 

Hotels downtown are a bit pricy! Keep in touch and I could help you out for accomodations if you ever make it here!!!

 

Be warned....things are different over here than there! Haven't matched clubbing in London yet !!!

thank you for the information and the links. i shall check them out. so have you been clubbing in london? ..... what would you say the main differences are between the whole scene here and there?

what me and a friend are planning on doing is as soon as we finish university for next summer - around may/june fly out to new york. were going to sort jobs out before we get there - not sure where abouts yet, but sumwhere in USA. work for a couple of months and then travel around abit. from what ive read and understand - u have to be 21 to get into clubs in the US(i will only be 20) so i have been looking into the 'rave' scene and stuff in america. ive been told ive been told the best places are san francisco, La and maryland?

Anyway i also plan on visiting canada too as while i was in ibiza i met some really great people from canada and would love to check out everything up there too.

you should check out http://www.clubplanet.com as they have discussion boards which cover most of the major cities.

 

also, i can't remember if i told you thins already but http://www.hyperreal.org has a section on party listings and includes weeklies and one-off events.

i think the problem i sthat there are not really any superclubs with really well-known brands in the US. Spundae, Twilo and a few others are trying to get there but this is a big country...

 

that said, there are large-scale, outdoor and indoor music events in the US with big names DJs. this is coming up in San Francisco really soon:
