James - why not put some Music on here - say 10 tracks that can be chosen by the user - updated every week - Or we could broadcast user mixes from a file saved on the server - depends on how much room u got - a sort of radio?

 

We could also look at doin live mixes through MSN or here - what do you think mate?

I brought a similar idea up some time ago.

 

Having worked with over 5 internet dance music radio stations, I know quite quite a bit about them, and also how they are set up etc.

 

CTWr (ClubTheWorldradio) would be a VERY good idea and can be a good way to promote those who are DJ's in the forum.

 

If your lookin any information on how this is all set up, then please let me know.

yep - deffo looking into it - its just the data transfer which is a pig - its costing me £30-£40 a month at the moment (10 gig/month dt)- and that with few members / just pictures.

 

Getting new box which is £180 a month but thats still only 40gig of data transfer a month allowed. Should be enough for pics but mp3s etc.. are a pig.

 

We may have to go advertising route to pay for the hosting / data transfer one day but I'm a bit reluctant as I want this site to stay 'personal' and 'free'

Once I get my servers back online at home here, I'm quite happy to hang some archived mixes off the end of my ADSL line.

Not super fast, but it should drop the data transfer limits on this site.
