CTW Members Mr Happy Posted March 23, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 23, 2004 the hoovers dont work. especially towards the end of the tune when you get a little over enthusiastic with the filters i think the (for want a better word) groove of the tune works nicely tho. maybe a little more originality for the medlody (ie no tdv sampling ) Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members Bungle Posted March 23, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 23, 2004 (edited) I'm not into producing, so this is purely from a clubbers point of view. Firstly I like it! Could quite happily have a bit of a stomp to it But, time for the constructive criticism. It all seems a bit shallow if that makes sence? I mean that the cymbal crashes you used don't seem to go too well with the rest of it. They seem like they've been plonked rather than working as part of the track and as Happy said the hoovers do go a bit over the top. I've always thought they were used best during a build up then after it til the end of the track. Think yours came in a bit soon. hope some of that helps. I do like it though, honestly. I think i did go OTT with the hoovers cos ive just figured how to make them in sound forge so i just went a bit mad! Thanks again its helped - Ive got another one im working on now which is going to be a few hoovers - but more hard trance style with a nice riff (hopefully!) CTW Members russelldust Posted March 24, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 24, 2004 it's ok but just doesn't quite grab me... I've heard a lot worse though... A bit long and the sound could maybe be cleaned up. I'd also put another layer of sound in on the eighth bar...

CTW Members Mr Happy Posted March 25, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 25, 2004 if think its safe to assume that ian wont be making hoovers in sound forge naughty: thoose hoovers in your tune sounded like they were just ripped out of a TDV tune - i could have swarn i even heard other parts from that tune in amongest the hoover Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members Bungle Posted March 25, 2004 CTW Members Share Posted March 25, 2004 I couldn't hear any blatant TDV ripping. I wondered what you were going on about. Quote Anyone fancy a bongle with bungle?
