Digital glitching

I love the sound when an mp3/cd glitches, and plays a loop, but whenever I loop a sample, it doesn't have the same feel. Amy hints on how to get that "glitch" sound.

*As an aside, I love digital distortion too, when your satellite channel has those weird squares, how do I recreate that?"

if u loop a sample - some samplers (both soft and hard) fade the edges to avoid 'clicking' sounds - its av fast fade so its not noticeable

if u can loop a sample without the fast fade (if u can find an option) it might have the same effect

failing that try adding in ut own 'click' sound @ the beginning of the sample - would obviously have to b very very short and percursive without sounding to instrumental, but i'm sure ur more than capeable of playing around to get it to sound right as ur musical expertease is far far greater than mine

not sure if this will solve ur problem but thats the 1st thing i personally would try

what you could do to try and imitate the "glitch" is get soundforge fired up, copy and paste your loop, then just as the loop starts, copy a MINUSCULE sample (like .05s or something) and paste it after itself a few times. and then maybe do that again straight afterwards for a different sample.

it's hard to explain but you'll see what i mean, it might give a weird clicky effect. as an example, select a tiny sample (again, .05s) and Play Loop it, as a test. you'll be able to hear how it just produces like a buzzing sound, then keeping it on Play Loop, as you adjust the sample smaller and smaller, it just becomes a higher and higher continuous tone (by the fact that as you're selecting a smaller and smaller area, it's just looping a smaller wave.
