[ Site News ] - Charges for Title Changes

We are now getting many requests for title changes - some days as many as 10, this can actually start to take up a lot of our time, including all the avatar changes we are asked to do now.

 

A few people have made the suggestion to us that we could make a small charge for title changes to cover the increasing hosting costs, such as other clubbing web sites do. We think this could be a good idea. We also think that this could make it quite interesting as we could also allow members to change other members' titles to "whatever_they_want".

 

An example pricing strategy 'could' be ...

£5 to change your title

£10 to change another members' title

 

If this new scheme did go ahead we would of course have a window of say a month to give newbies a chance to get their titles changed for free.

On UK-Scene we only change a title once a member has posted over a certain amount of posts (1000).

I don't think you should be allowed to change other members titles, coz then does the other person have to pay to have it changed back?!

decided this is actually a bad idea. Any money for supporting hosting etc.. should really come from the clubs/promotors, not the members.

 

We will however probably restrict the amount of times people can change titles or request us to do avatar changes as it really is taking up too much time (until i can [censored] out how to let you do them yourself, perhaps)

by the look of it, yes!

 

why not let people know when they join they can choose a title and have to stick with it. let existing members know they have one more change then they have to stick with it.

 

it just seems like a load of [censored] for the board admin(s) as a result of nothing more than fickleness and, well simply put, vanity.

 

if people are that upset about changing titles, you can deal with it on a case by case basis...
