MSN Messenger Plus Problems.

I keep getting a pop up smack bang in the middle of my screen every so often sayin that an open port on my pc is being used - visit BYEBYEADS.com and stop this from happening!

 

Any1 getting this?

check microsoft support and look for "messenger spam"

 

it's not actually caused by MSN Messenger, but the windows messenger service which is used internally by windows to communicate between different parts of itself (i think). however like most ms stuff, it has a hole which can be exploited.

 

the main workaround is to install a firewall or disable messenger service in XP, but that means you lose some functionality or something
