If they, for instance, broke a leg, then you would be needed to help them - certainly in the first week or so, maybe longer. Now the interesting thing to note is that it's not just for breaking legs. It's if they need you due to a physical, mental or emotional reason... Your legal requirement is to telephone into work as soon as is practically possible, also with (where you know it) roughly how long you need. Hope this helps! CTW Members jon_m Posted May 11, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted May 11, 2003 theres been a similar post to this b4 in which i suggested injuries are better than illness as then when u call in u dont have to put on THAT voice evry one does when ill and when u go back to work u can be fine! its ideal, my classic i used last time was i went the pub where my mates had been drinkin allday, a fight started i stepped in to split it up and was punched, chipping my teeth and forcing agonising pain and a trip to see the dentist!!
