relationships Coupling

Most of my mates are in couples now. It never used to bother me as I was quite happy being single but recently when we've been out I've started to feel a bit like a billy and it's making me think I want a relationship but I know I dont ... i think

Hmmmmm, a tricky one this....i think we all want that someone special but we dont want the hassle and shite u get with havin a significant other half.... id love to have a bf but i also want someone that will either come out with me and enjoy themselves without hanging round my neck all night or let me go out and enjoy myself without a face like a slapped arse on them (a la )!! But also i do like affection and stuff but i think u get 2 types of lads with this...too much and too little affection!! And its probably the same for blokes with birds too, we just dont acknowledge the fact as much as we should (as dont they ) i really dont know what point im trying to make i think probably just havin a rant lmao Just slap me and tell me to shut up!!

I did singleton for the first two years of uni.....it was cool. Plenty of shagging, getting drunk and basically not giving a f^ck what anyone else thought.

 

(also achieved my personal best of shagging three different birds in a week - if you've seen me, you'll understand this is VERY good going)

 

But it got boring, so I started looking for something long term. Only problem was, couldn't find anything. Got a bit demoralising, so I stopped looking one weekend. That weekend just happened to be Big Beach Boutique in Brighton, and you all know the story from there.....

If I'm understanding you correctly Bextor, you're basically saying that you want a relationship so that you will fit in with your coupled up mates ?

If that's the case then stop right there !!!

That's got to be the worst reason possible for a relationship.

Sounds a bit harsh, but what you need is some new, unattached friends who have more in common with you than your loved-up mates. I'm not saying that everyone in a relationship should be shunned, you just have to make sure the people you hang with are into the same stuff as you. As an example here I would point to Neil and Beckie who are a great couple, who I get on really well with, and who I've got loads in common with.

A lot of my old mates are settled down, and don't come out much, and as a consequence most of my friends now are younger and more socialable.

Getting into a relationship just because everyone else is isn't the right reason.

 

If you find someone that seems right, then by all means go for it. but driving yourself mad looking isn't the way to go.

Yeah, thats definately not the right reason to go into a relationship and the fact that you have doubts that you even want one shows that!

Maybe you should try speaking to your friends about it. At GK global last week for example, my boyf's mate came with us and we tried our best to make him not feel like an out sider (Which would have been easier, had CTW shown their faces earlier! )

Just tell your friends how you feel and they might make more of an effort in future.

Good idea. Myself and my other half make an effort not to act so 'couple-esque' around people whom we know have a thing about being single.
