[ Site News ] - Photo Gallery Problems / Migration

Please note, I found MORE serious security issues & corruption with the open source Gallery software last night. Up until recently the software has been running error free but as more and more albums & photos have been added its clear that the software cant handle it. There are new versions coming out in the future which will resolve these issues but I cant wait any longer and right now we have no galleries at all as its too dangerous to have them up. The pain in the ass is that its taken me a huge amount of time getting all the current pictures in with captions, comments etc.. and now I've got to start again. Good lesson to be learned though, but no one could have seen it coming.

 

Therefore I have just purchased what I think is the best media gallery out there, ImageFolio, and currently installing it. Hopefully have this up today/tomorrow but it will take some considerable time to get all the photos moved across, starting with the newest first.

 

Sorry about this but once we've moved across (as we had to do with the forums), we will have one of the best setups on the net.

The new gallery software is now up, although its still being configured.

The new software is much more robust and its supported properly so hopefully I wont have any more headaches and can actually get on developing the my own bespoke stuff for the site (which I originally intended to complete a couple of months ago!! ). O well, live and learn ...

unfortunately not - but I guess there will be a way round of hacking it and/or part of a new version at some stage.

 

I can change captions etc.. but still configuring.
