Okay - if you had to single out one experince in your clubbing career as the definitive night out, which would it be?

Please supply details and why it was the most fantastic night out of your life. Mines is:

Universe - The Tribal Gathering - April 93 @ Warminster. 5 tents, over 40 djs and the best set of friends getting ripped for over 48hrs. First of all we left Edinburgh the night before driving to Kelso to stay with mates which consisted of a ridiculous bong session until about 2am. The next morning at 6am, the joint posse, 12 strong of Edinburgh and Kelso Calton Studios regulars left the borders to drive to Warminster. The drive which consisted of several people taking turns to drive in seriously questionable states - the worst part was when a certain person who shall remain nameless was driving through an aquaduct thinking he was playing super mario cart on the SNES. We got to the gig at 3pm in the afternoon (it started at 8pm) and turned out to be the first people to arrive. After about 20mins the next folk to arrive were a posse of english guys who challenged us to a game of football. Our team (Acid United I'll call them) proceeded to give the English a lesson in the beautiful game. By the time we got in we were all wired to moon. Amazing production, the largest tent ever erected in Europe and 35,000 like minded space cadets enjoying the vibe. Here are just some of the highlights of the night I can actually remember:

Carl Cox playing a hard techno set (in the jungle and Drum & Bass tent)

The Universe re-unification ceremony

The costumes of the dancers in the house tent - fishnet catsuits and nothing else

CJ Bollands live set

Sven Vath - the mad german jumping about on the decks at the end

My mate Shady Jake rolling a cone in the middle of the Starship Universe arena

Everyone biggin us up cos we'd made the trip from Edinburgh

Colin Dales set

Giving one of the stilt walking robots a blast of poppers and then watching him go for it Playing Ultrasonic on our massive PA System that was wired up to the minibus in the carpark (watching every one dance on the roofs of their cars etc)

An amazing experience in clubbing, meeting really strange and exotic characters and feeling like kissing the ground to celebrate still being alive after an insane roadtrip were just some of the things that make me look back at this weekend with a bit more nostalgic and happy (even though slightly hazy) memories than most.

The production, sound systems, dancers, merchandise and just the sheer [censored] over this event p**ses over Cream, Gatecrasher, Slinky or any other outdoor events I have been to.

Peace

My first ever rave.

Thought I was just going to a little dance festival in New Zealand. We met up in a tiny little town on the coast, jumped on a boat when there were about 200 of us and were sailed out of the coast to an island called Urapukpuka.

Three days on a beautifull island you could walk around in about 45 minutes with the party going on 24hrs. During the day we'd go swimming with a small friendly shark in the bay or sit in the glass bottomed Yellow Submarine boat watching the fish.

At night we'd do fire spinning on the beach under stars so clear you could see the milky way. It was the first time I tried a few substances as well. All in all, possibily the most beautifull weekend of my life. grouphug.gif

My birthday, 15/6/2002, Slinky @ Opera House Bournemouth

Marco V plays a quality techno set, finishing off with Underworld's Born Slippy

then

Rob Tissera takes over, and plays the bounciest hard house set I've ever heard in my life. Last three songs are the hard mix of Firestarter, a hard mix of Reel II Reel's I like to Move It, and he finishes off with the (then still quite new) 4Clubbers Vs. Robert Miles Children. By this time, my second little one has kicked in, and I spend most of the final song on the upstairs balcony is tears, running around hugging everyone and telling them how much I love them.

Harder. Faster. Better. Stronger. Badder. Smarter. Wub Wub

Couldn't single out just one but there are a few that really stick in my memory. So in no particular order:

1. Playing/drowning in the foam at Dave Pearce Euphoria at Eden, Ibiza, seemed totally surreal..... flash.gif

2. Gatecrasher summer sound system 2002- my first experience of Tidy and overall an amazing CTW meet up with lotsa' great people and spectacular atmosphere.

3. XLR8 at The Fridge on 11th may- One of the best nights of my life, impossible to put into words....... heartbeat.gif

QUESTION! And this is a tupid [censored] arse question, the tune from 4clubbers and children, is it associated with the site 4clubbers.net?

If not we could see a court case coming up!

i've had a lot of wonderful nights in clubs but my best dance music experience has to be dancing through 'til dawn at Burning Man and watching the sun rise over the Black Rock Desert while dancing to sublime psytrance.

i've seen about 20 BM sunrises and nothing really compares for me...
