i think we all know wat abortions entail, without it being strewn across our screen,

i for one couldnt think how someone wants to willfully watch that procedure taking place...
after all its not like watching the removal of an appendix is it?

Sick as fuck
and channel four purely have done it for this media attention
as well as tring to persude the  dense members of our society to tune into this

id rather frig myself thanx

For those that saw the program...

Did it change your opinion on abortion?

Did it add anything new to the debate?

Has it highlighted any deficiencies in the current rules regarding aboriton?

Did the contents of the program seem sensationalised at all?

surely the mother comes first?

if mum dont want a baby, that baby could have to pay the coniquensis for the rest of its life.

Abortion is not an easy descion to make, but the women who do, choose to do it, do if the reasons they think are right at the time, whether or not anyone else agrees!!

i think untill your actually in that situation yourself you could never know what it feels like to think about such a life changing desision such as bring a child into the world.

i had to think about it before i had my misscarrige last year, the stuff that was going around in my head was awfull, i hope to god i never have to make a desision that involes the biggest possible change in my life again.

if you just think about the baby of course you will go through with the pregnancy but its you that has to be a 100% parent to the child for the next 18 years.

the programme hasnt changed my views because i wasnt really anti-abortion (i was last year though) but it has opened my eyes, to what i dont really know, i cant pin point what has enlightened me, sorry.gif

to say this was a pulicity stunt by channel 4 is bollox because they wasnt even sure if they wanted to go ahead with it, it was channel 4 that put it to the vote and asked people if it should be shown or kept as a educational programme for those that needed an indipendant un-biased view of abortion.

i say if its helped at least one person make the right desision for themselves then it has done good, yes.gif

but hey, thats just my oppinion (which dont count for a lot) blushing.gif

Depends which way you look at it. I mean if you were the baby, what would your decision be?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not anti-abortion.

What annoys me is how irresponsible people (I'm talking about those who have unprotected sex and bring a child into this world) hide behind terms such as 'pro-choice' as a way of justifying what they've done.

When in actual fact, people should live by their decisions and understand and take responsibility for what they have done.

Colin, I see what you are saying about unprotected sex, but that isnt the only reason on getting pregnant, some women on the pill, fall pregnant, rape victims can get pregnant, burst comden etc etc!!

& im sure that most of the women who choose to have an obortion, have it cross their mind that it would be irresponsible to keep the baby also, it does cut both ways & the arguments could go on & on!!

This is what irritates me - some people seem to be under the inmpression that people run around having unprotected sex and then getting abortions without a care in the world. If a woman seeks an abortion, two doctors both have to assess whether her mental and physical health are at stake before it can be granted.

Even before abortion was legal, thousands of women used to die every year in backstreet abortions gone wrong. Some people just don't seem to be able to understand how unwanted pregnancy's can wreck lives - both the mothers AND the childs.

And as for 'hiding behind the pro-choice argument' - pro-choice simply means that women have the right to be able to choose how to live their lives and what happens to their bodies, something men have always had. If not then you just make women slaves to pregnancy. And as for men who sit and criticise women who have abortions - you try and actually THINK how it would feel if you were in the same situation.

I think you have absolutely no right to criticise a woman who seeks an abortion until you know all the details of the situation, every single case is different and you cannot go jumping to conclusions about people's behaviour, their thoughts and their feelings.
