Did four years of medicine, met loads of great friends (including my husband) and generally did a lot of growing up. Then I dropped out, but I don't regret it for a minute. Then got a microbiology degree (was a 'mature' student by this point) for two years, and am now coming to the final stretch of a PhD which has been very hard work. I have been in uni for far too long, nine years when I get my doctorate!

University is great, but having spent so much time there I really do think that you need a few years to experience life before you get into serious studying. I spent my first three years (the length a normal degree) drinking and having fun. Then I got a bit bored of being a 'student' and settled down a bit, treating my second degree more like a full time job. A couple of my friends are doing their first degrees a bit later in life, and it really is a better option. I definately thing that being a mature student is the way forward, you are so much more responsible.

Well the craziness was great while it lasted! Nothing better to build up your alcohol tolerance and put a few notches onyour bed post wink.gif

I have to add though, being round students for eight and half years, I really hate the fuckers now tongue.gif

I'm at Liverpool Uni (the proper one) studying Law and am off to Law School next year.

Uni's deffo worth it, met so many people and got some great friends who I'd do anything for.

You're never to old to go, but the older you are, the different things you'll get out of it.

My teenage daughter has been kidnapped, and the people I work with may be involved in both.

I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and this is the longest day of my life...

im at manchester uni doing law, its the best thing i ever did coming here. Ive met people i never knew existed and learnt so much about myself, being independent and gained a lot of confidence. Ive only got a year and a bit left, i wish i could stay in uni forever! sad.gif Had some amazing experiences smile.gif

I would recommend to anyone to go, just for the experience if nothing else

The more people that pass Uni, the less chances there are for people to land a job because of their degree and in the area they hoped for.

People in Uni should be a minority not the majority.

a lot are doing crap degrees tho

People who do degrees like medicine, engineering etc. get the jobs they want...

the 5billion people doing sociology do not...

Coming soon...

4th March 2006, VALVE SOUNDSYSTEM @ Sheffield Uni with Pendulum, Roni Size, Dillinja, Sub Focus and more!!!
