playstation PlayStation 2 ?

I'm in two minds whether or not to get one off my bird for xmas. From what I've seen, the games look pretty amazing, even if they are 45 smackers a pop.

I also want a DVD player, so by getting one as a present, I'd be killing two birds with one stone.

 

Lad's / Ladies - Can you recommend it, or is it not worth it ?

I've got a PS2, and they are the muttz!

 

DVD player is smooth as you like and doesn't require a playback kit addon like the X-box.

 

Games are [censored] hot, Timesplitters 2 is eating up a lot of my time at the mo, and the latest ISS evolution soccer game is top drawer as well.

I wouldn't get one second hand, not something like that, too risky.

I probably will get one, if not for GTA Vice City & That Medal of Honour thing - they look so true to life, it's scary.

you should definitely get one, and also pick up tony hawk 4 and GTA Vice City, both top notch games

the new system that isnt really new but is technically and visually better is XBox, it may not have the game selection of PS2 yet but it is run my microsoft so they wont let it flop

Get one get one get one, you will never look back, I got mine the first Christmas they were on order.

 

 

You will never need anything else for those post club wee hours, especially if you are playing wipeuot or gta3

 

I would say buy one new too.....I doubt it will get much cheaper before the ps3 is released which will be one or two years yet...and I still get use out of my 6 year old original playstation...

I used to have a zx-81, an oric-1, dragon 32, vic-20, then commodore 64, (couldnt afford a bbc model b!), spectrum 48k (one of my faivs), Amiga 500 (MY FAIV ALL TIME COMPUTER), Amiga 1500, (couldnt afford Amiga 1200), o [censored] - left out Commodore PET !!!!!!! now I just have a wrecked PC (thanks to my ex!)

PS2 wipes the floor with X-Box and Gamecube. The games are fantastic and if you buy the online you only have to pay £30-£35. I got Pro Evolution Soccer and GTA Vice City for £33 each.

 

Other top games include Metal Gear Solid 2 (A must have), Timesplitters 2 (exellent), Pro Evolution Soccer (if you love footie, you'll love this), Gran Turismo 3 (if you love racing games, you'll love this) and GTA3 or Vice City - both funny as [censored] - think drive-bys, stealing police cars and running over hookers.

I'd get a PS2 if I was you. The Gamecube is doing very well sales wise, but doesn't have DVD. The X-Box is doing shite sales wise and for DVD playback you have to buy extra bits, i think. I've had my PS2 since they first came out and its brilliant. Defo get GTA though !!! Games are pretty cheap if you buy off the net. You usually get at leat £8 off per game over retail price !
