CTW Members Rise Posted January 3, 2005 CTW Members Share Posted January 3, 2005 Remember that when the vinyl needle comes closer to the end of a record the pitch also changes slightly. So if your beat mixing from around the beginning of the vinyl getting it ready and you got it spot on waiting to mix out, more often enough it wont be as perfect as you first thought, so continue to beat check through the track until its time to mix out. I am a bit dubious about this comment....? This should only happen if the record has been badly mastered!

CTW DJs Chris-Hutchinson Posted January 10, 2005 CTW DJs Share Posted January 10, 2005 found psytrance a right arse to mix as there are extra beats added in all over the place.... couple that with the fact the tracks have no percussive intros or outros (never realised how much of a 'luxury' mixing hard dance and hardcore is lol!) means you gotta be on your toes with it Its more fun to mix because its a challenge though! CTW Members fifedjdomo Posted January 17, 2005 CTW Members Share Posted January 17, 2005 anyone else got records that you find are just an absolute twat to keep in time with others? generic trance and i would imagine most hard house/trance tunes dont have this problem, but i got a few tracks that i just tend to avoid playing cos there is just something about them that just makes them an arse to mix. The new Tiesto album is infected with this curse. main one that just pissed me off is deep dish. oddly quantised records do my fucking head in 77495[/snapback] i like tiesto! good quality! i think, if you cant mix with any of these kind of tunes, them u mustnt be as good a DJ as you'd like to think!!!! ha! loser, tis what ye get for dissin my mate tiesto dunno bout ur deep dish tho. depends which record u wer talkin about. i had a problem for a short while at the beginning of the outro to Alphazone's "Rockin' (Mat Silver & Tony Burt Remix)" where there is a space before the beats start the usual 8bar routine again. thing was uve started ur other record when the alphazone track started its 'chorus' (if ya like) and mixes thru and its all fine til the end of the alphazone 'chorus' where its beat stops for 4, and ur new track keeps playing. end result is that ur new track sounds 5 beats too far ahead of the first one, and u notice it at the end of 32beat crash, n then thers one 5 beats later. i agree it sounds confuzing but what ya gotta do is wait. when the gap comes in, u que ur record for the 5beats n then let it go again, all the while keepin the volume level on ur 2nd track down, n then fade through and it will be fine and the crash will be in sync and all that other stuff. good luck with yer mixin in t future bud
