Finally i've cracked it...

Hard House music, jsut started producing it tonight,

 

I;ve tried in the past and was unsucessful, and i believe its because of the samples i was using.

 

I recently got a new sample pack, and i asked for hard house samples only, and the ideas are flowing like crazy now

 

I'll post a clip in a new days after i;ve produced a clip im confident with, thou be easy on me, as it will be my first hard house choon \ release in my music career

I cannot write dancey drumbeats, and I can't figure out why!!

it can be tricky sumtimes

 

i think its cuz dance drum beats cheet a bit and have sumkinda riff ur sumthin goign on in the bass line to beef it up so its not just a 909 or whatever

havent u tryed creating ur own samples?

hard house drum loops are actually fairly simple, but it can take alittle while to get used to how they're written. I've always made my own tho as i have something against using other peoples loops for some odd reason

i'm with u on that

 

dont like using nething that sum1 else has sampled or writtern if i can help it

 

unless i'm bootleging of course then its a diff ball game entirely

The problem arises if you don't know where to start, I do a 4x4 bass drum, with 16ths hi-hats over the top, and it is just in no way house, I need to know what sort of groove to put in to get it sounding housey.....not that I really want to write house songs, is just another weapon in the sonic arsenal

Yeah, then i'd say it was acceptable. altho knowing me i'd probably just try and re-create the percussion myself. For some odd reason i have it in my head that borrowing loops is kind of like cheating

my choons are always 100% me unless its like a vocal sample, i think its why msot of my songs dont have a strong commercial sound to them
