CTW DJs Chris-Hutchinson Posted May 30, 2003 Author CTW DJs Share Posted May 30, 2003 Mr_Happy said: btw - whats ur setup? i'm guessing u have sum kinda fx unit 2xTechnics 1210s 2xPioneer CDJ100s Pioneer DJM 600 mixer (where the fx come from) Am sorry you didnt like cd as much as the last one (I actually prefer this mix), but thank you for being honest - the only way I can make myself a better DJ is by taking onboard these sort of comments (tho i thought renegade master worked ) But, I know what ya mean about last cd and this cd, although 'Creation Control' is based around my usual style, wheras 'Retribution' was created with the idea of making it a bit more 'appealing' to clubbers + promoters. A lot of the feedback I received over the last mix was that people wanted to hear more tracks that they recognised and so I tried to incorporate this in slightly (Digitek, Tension etc.), whilst still keeping a few more obscure tunes to help it stand out a bit..... I know this is gonna make some people love it and other hate it when compared to 'creation control', but the majority of feedback has been that people prefer 'retribution' so if thats gonna help me to obtain gigs, then its the way im gonna have to make em....for now! Unfortunatly, playing at the tidytrax weekender seems to have completely [censored] up my chance of scoring sets for some strange reason....despite being named as one of the top 10 moments of TW3, I havent had a single booking since the event (was doing better before I played there!), and really need to find a way to actually get playing out again!! Either way though, thanks for the response, and thanks for being honest - greatly appreciated (jeez - bit of a long reply there!)
CTW DJs Chris-Hutchinson Posted May 30, 2003 Author CTW DJs Share Posted May 30, 2003 As for.... Mr_Happy said: 3) noticed a slight hickup during the breakdown of "photonic zone", but this is me being perdantic ...that was an error on my part - instead of setting the filters up right, I had left it on the wrong setting (hence, the sound cutting out in between beats).... Saying that, my cds are always made on the first take (in my opinion, whats the point in making a cd better then you actually are) which is why some of the levels etc. in 'cc' were off.... CDs will never be 'perfect' because of this, but at least its a true representation of what I can actually do, rather then how good I am at cutting, copying and pasting with soundforge!! Because I had set time period up based around using the filter, there was a problem hehehe It all stems from the techno-side of me.... I just have the urge to mess about cos I get bored waiting for tracks to do anything!!
