CTW Members Mr Happy Posted May 30, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted May 30, 2003 cant say i've heard enuf breaks to say if i like em or not, but i cant imagin myself being a big fan as the reason i love techno sooo much is because it just flows w/o the need to break as 4 house - i love proper house music, funky house can be good as long as its not that horrible clechy(sp?) stuff thats all filters and vocals. but proper dark (and prog) house is good stuff imo Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/

CTW DJs Guyster Posted June 3, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted June 3, 2003 If you're Rowe... then hello  I am MR HOUSE on here... pretty much the only house DJ about alongside Perm (the Funky Fellas). I play everything from vocal US to chunky, deep and prog. I like breaks and do play a bit but I just can't afford to buy them on top of what I already do. I love the plumps, and stantons.... genii So there's one or two of us here Quote WiLDCHiLD - where spacehoppers and pom poms rule
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted June 3, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 3, 2003 I DJ house too. I like anything that is funky and techy, from deep house through progressive to hard-as-nails techno! I find it hard to find interesting breakbeat music - a lot of it seems to be much-of-a-muchness to me - but there are some tracks I love. Plump DJs / Scram is my all-time-fave breakbeat track, along with Prodigy / Breathe and some of Hybrid's stuff. I love my d&b too, haven't bought any records for a few years as I spend most of my dosh on house & techno, but I'm well into the likes of Dom & Roland, Klute, and a bit of EZ Rollerz and Technical Itch. Mr Happy - breakbeat music can be very "rolling" and techy but it's tricky to find stuff that stands out. Just like progressive house a year or two ago, a lot of producers are leaping on the bandwagon and doing very mediocre stuff, thanks to all the hype about breakbeat being the next big thing (yeah, whatever). Give me tech-house any day!

Aaaahh good good. You know Marco Giannini? I'm up in Leeds all the time, and he's a mate of mine. He's playing at Hum in Old St in London with Meat Katie and Rennie Pilgrim on the 20th. But good to see there's a few of us out there! Quote WiLDCHiLD - where spacehoppers and pom poms rule
