The Sun and the Daily Mirror are both piles of horseshit, they aren't newspapers, they're comics. If you just rely on the tabloids for news then you must have a very distorted view of the world.

Can't fault you on The Sun, but Daily Mirror won BOTH the newspaper of the year awards, beating EVERY other paper in the country. Unfortunately you appear to be stuck in a timewarp and are harking back to the time when the Mirror was just a crummy tabloid. Also, in the recent newspaper awards, the Mirror had 20 nominations, more then any other, incidentally The Sun had 0.

And how can you say reading the Mirror can give you a distorted view of the world confused.gif Even though the Mirror took a very firm 'against' view on the war on Iraq during the build up to it, every day they had articles from prominent pro-war politicians, journalists etc.

I think the Mirror does put a leftish-wing spin on things, whereas the Sun really is starting to put not only a fairly right-wing spin on things but also a pure load of make-believe bullshit... The scary thing is that people believe it.

When I read *any* paper, see *any* TV programme, read *anything* on the net or listen to *anything* on the radio or something someone else says, I tend to think about the points that are made.

I don't take the Mirror as gospel, but think it's the best of the tabloids... I read the Independant too, and although it's the most pollitically neutral of the papers, I do have my own brain to make up my own mind on things too....

i read the sun and the star for pure entertainment value! the problem pages really make me larf on the way 2 w0rk....

i work for the independent newspaper, so tend to read that as its readily available!

Not that i agree with all the things we publish. All papers do have a bias one way or the other , just some r more discreet than others....

'AV IT! '

The Daily Mail also won some newspaper of the year award, as it says so on the front- damn good read.

If I can be bothered with a broadsheet it's gotta be the Telegraph or The Times.

My teenage daughter has been kidnapped, and the people I work with may be involved in both.

I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and this is the longest day of my life...

agreed. The Mirror has improved a lot since it stopped trying to compete directly with The Sun for the same readership. so i read that sometimes, and occasionally The Scotsman, The Times or The Guardian.

the Daily Mail, well; the topics of some of its articles can be interesting at times (unless we're talking about Diana again), but that's far outstripped by the number of embarrassingly poor attempts at journalism that don't really live up to the standard it tries to set itself, and of course don't forget its political agenda which worryingly leans a bit too far to the right for me. it also doesn't seem to like anyone under the age of 35, which i've always found difficult to get on with.
