CTW Members babyred Posted June 5, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 5, 2003 Just out of curiosity how much would a decent set of decks, a decent PA system & lights enough for a small venue cost?

CTW Members Mr Happy Posted June 8, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 8, 2003 basically u'll need speekers, and amplifyer (if u have a hifi system which r sperates (ie a seperate unit 4 the cd player, a serperate unit 4 the tape deck, radio etc) then u can just take the amp part of that (which will be the thinghy u select the medium ur gonna play from) u'll need leads - ne 1 with decks will have these leeds so that wont be a problem if sum1 is suplying the decks then they will no doubt be suplying the mixer as well i wont go into the set up of the system as who ever will bring the units will (or should) have enuf experence to set it all up not 100% sure how u would set up multiple speekers, but i would imagin its just teh case of running more speekers off the same amp (however this is a bigger drain on the amp so i wouldnt recommend this unless u have a flashy amp (or multiple amps rigged though some flashy multiple output mixer) ^ plase can sum1 verify this for me tho Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members Mr Happy Posted June 8, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 8, 2003 o btw - the more powerful teh speekers the more likely they r to blow the amp if the amp isnt powerful enuf. and if the amp is more powerful than the speeker your likely to blow the speekers if you turn the volume up too load however it is easyer to spot the speekers before they blow as the distortion u'll getfrom them will ruin the sound quality Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/

CTW Members Mr Happy Posted June 8, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 8, 2003 just cuz its loud @ home it still dont meen it will work in an open air environment u have to remember that sound travels better through solid objects and theres alot of solid objects (ie the walls) in a house 4 the sound to travel though Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
CTW Members jon_m Posted June 8, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 8, 2003 its a 500watt per channel power amp and i have two 350 watt speakers there is no way that is meant for in a bedroom!! its a club monitor system! the original post asked how much for pa and decks, sumone quoted at least 5k and i have disproved this! FACT! so its irrelevent wot its used for as it is still a pa system!
