Maybe...? or its just easier to defend as being misunderstood, rather than just pure old lame (off topic but my fave techno record ever that im my eyes will never be bettered in its field is jeff mills first purpose maker record 'reverting' axis records-013... minimal funky and pure fooking genius)
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 23, 2003 Yeah I suppose this is the crux of the matter really! At the end of the day you can't prove one style of music to be "better" than another, which is the essence of snobbery. I am grateful that not all artists are anal about being totally original. Some of my favourite tunes are pretty derivative, but still bloody good! Like that trance tune at the end of Luke Neville's set on Saturday. Pretty generic on paper, but kick-arse music all the same! CTW Members Mr Happy Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 23, 2003 i also find it a great pitty when tunes that rnt the best of engineared tunes but have a great thought behind em seem to flop cuz thier not 'professional' enuf. surely creativety is more important than who can operate cubase the best note - that dont meen i'll tollerate music thats shockingly produced as theres no excuse for productions that havent been tidyed up before pressing Quote Mr Happy's fishy fish MangaFish munch munch MSN & e-mail - mangafish@mangafish.net AOL - MangaMorgan Online mixes - http://www.mangafish.net/mixes/
