i never did get why The Ultimate Question as found by Arthur Dent seemed to be "what do you get when you multiply six by nine", which blatantly comes out at 54, and therefore doesn't equate with The Ultimate Answer?

unless i'm working in the wrong number system.

or, alternatively, i'm missing a vital concept.
