CTW Members Louise Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 23, 2003 make sure they r really wet, i cant put my head back and put em in, i have to rest my elbow on summat (2 stop the shakin)and do it facing a mirrow, to get them out i just rub my eyes underneath and they just pop out, usually on the floor so u cant find the little buggers that way u dont scratch ur eyes out either

CTW Members rachel Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 23, 2003 I wear contacts & usually don't have any problems with them, they sometimes annoy me if i get some dirt or dust in my eye because you can't rub your eyes too much. They may be moving around if your eye is shaped like a rugby ball (like mine) which means the lens won't sit on your eye so well. I think it maybe a good idea to have your eyes tested for contact lenses or visit the optician & ask them for some advice as to why this might be happening. I wear contact lenses for sight, are they soft lenses? WHen i got mine i had to have my eye circumference measured etc etc as u have to get a pair that fit ur eye perfect or they move about too much and are unconfortable when u blink if there the wrong size cos everyones eyes are different sizes etc. the first ever lenses i tried were hard lenses which are rigid and dont bend, soft lenses are the most confortable i think as they are bendy etc. I think you would be best off going to an opticians and having them fitted by a proper optician who will check they are right for ur eyes. I also find that air-conditioned environments are very unconfortable as they dry ur eyes out. It takes time to get them in but u get used to it eventually! I just stand at the mirror over the sink with the plug in and a little tiny bit of water in the bottom and look str8 ahead at the mirror and slowy move the lense towards my eye put the lense onto ur iris and blink a couple of times and sorted. WIth regards to taking them out make sure u dont have long nails as they tear easily and damage easily... i just pinch the sides of the lense with my finger andpull it off me eye, easiest way to do it, takes getting used to put ull be fine, any more info u want add me to ur msn campalena@hotmail.com Take care. x Quote Lifes mission... get wasted, have a good time, avoid work as much as possible! CTW Members rachel Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 23, 2003 Campalena can i ask you why you have water in the sink when you put your lenses in? I've always been told never to use tap water on my lenses because of the risk of getting eye infections.

I've always been told never to use tap water on my lenses because of the risk of getting eye infections. Basically because if i dropped it then lenses dry out very quick and its easier to see a lense in water or solution than it is when theres no water there, if it drops in the water then at least u can calmly look for it rather than paniking and wondering where it is! Just look in the water and u will make out the outline of ur lenes, only about a cm of water though. IF it does drop in the water then i always rinse with saline or solution to get inpurities off, u should never clean ur lenses wit tap water or store them in it as it wont clean, but ive been known to have to take me lense out and rinse it in a bit of water cos i had no solution say i was at work or somat. THat answer ur Q LOl Quote Lifes mission... get wasted, have a good time, avoid work as much as possible!

CTW Members rachel Posted June 23, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 23, 2003 That has answered my question thank you I've used tap water on my lenses (hard lenses) before in emergencies. Usually at the weekend if i don't make it home & stay at someone elses house unplanned!!!
