CTW Members Tresh Posted June 25, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 25, 2003 Accidents happen, hence they're called accidents. Quote My teenage daughter has been kidnapped, and the people I work with may be involved in both. I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and this is the longest day of my life... CTW Members llamaman1562627901 Posted June 25, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 25, 2003 The thing I look forward to most about being a dad is showing the daughter/son that they are more important than the dent they put in a car. CTW Members Phil rr Posted June 26, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 well, 'ere goes... repairing cars is gonna be more expensive than building them in the first place (rach erm dont read since cars are built on a prod. line by programmed robots where the supervisors know the exact position of every single bit of material it's faster and more straightforward to make them. when u repeair something, humans have to do it cos it;s a one-off job, and they have to take apart the thing first, then sort it out, then rebuild it. so it's at least 3 times as much work (remove, prepare, rebuild), plus the fact ppl work slower than robots. erm thats about all really... CTW Members Cherry Posted June 26, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 None-the-less 2 grand for a bump? is he not insured? sounds like my dad who rounds things up to the most conveniently horrifying figure: "ur mother spent nearly £200 on that outfit and now she wants shoes!" (actual figure £120) "i just spent nearly £100 at the supermarket and now u say there's nowt to eat!" (actual figure £60) You get the jist. It's a play for sympathy. He'll be over it shortly.
