James: If I see Gary, I´d be more inclined to break his legs than say hi! I´m sure the full story will come out eventually and I´ll be happy to tell anyone in person when I get back, but it´s fair to say that he definately won´t be welcome on here or at any big nights anywhere. I can honestly say ive never met anyone that thick or physcotic.

I´d also warn everyone to def not work with him.

he asked me 2 go work in ibiza with him and am i glad i didn't go

It was a massive cock up of massive massive mahusive proportions.....

I've been promised I will be paid.......

Viva La Trance is officially dead. Summum is one empty place on Thursday nights.... which is very sad as it had unlimited potential.

And being housemate no.3 to all the rest of the hell-like stuff that went on has seriously seriously got me down.

Damn disappointed.gif

There is NO Viva la Trance!

are you saying there is no night at all ? confused.gif

last I knew Carl was in fact still going to be a resident there ?

I hope Gary etc is ok - say hi if you see them smile.gif

Right this is how it is! Gary was defeated before he'd even started, no ambition, no drive, he thought he could leave it to other people to fill the night and that from my experience just aint possible, if u wanna job doing, you need to do it yourself, which is exactly why there were 50 people in there all of which i had dragged from the heat crew, with out any flyers or anything. None of the other dj's had brought ANYBODY with them, Claire was walking round as if she owned the place, saying that he'd beaten her up, which i clearly found no evidence of!!!!

I played and tore everyone i had (Although Minimal!) in front of me a new arse (If i dont mind saying so myself! notworthy.gif), wicked club, loadsa potential but alas no money to see it thru!!!!

The moral of this story is there are no quick fixes to be launched into Superstardom, you cant walk out of your bedroom with a handful of credit cards and expect to become the "Next Big Thing". It all takes a long time with hard graft, knockback upon Knockback, the highs and the lows, but if u truely believe in yourself, eventually you morph yourself into a rubber ball and the harder they push u down , the higher you will bounce!!!

I never got paid for this event obviously, but if it helped gary realise just a very small part of his dream, then thats all the payment i need! beerchug.gif

TO be honest this doesn't come as a suprise to me that the night was not a success. Gary had asked me at one point to go out and help him promote the night - I think because his money, or at least the money the bank had lent him had dried up. At this point he was struggling to even get flyers printed. It's fuckin' hard promting in Ibiza because massive UK promoters have tried and failed and lets be honest, club summum is no Pacha, is it.

To make anything a success I think you'd need to think long term and be prepared to lose lots of money early in the season and build it over the summer. Gary just never had the financial power to do that and it was doomed from the start.

I feel sorry for everyone involved.

Here, here! Hope all involved can move on okay from this, and if nothing more it turns out to be a life experience that will help them go on to bigger and better things.

I guess there's a few of us that beleived it.

I was due to DJ there in July and August, and I'd booked 3 days off and flights in the last week of Aug specifically to go there and play. Naturally, though I didn't know Gary v well, I was made up that I'd be having the chance to fulfil one of my ambitions and play the white isle.

I've heard q a few versions of what's happened, and what seems clear is that the work put into promoting the night wasn't up to scratch and the money ran out. Summum is a lovely venue, but, as you see every year, you can't fill a club in Ibiza by just turning up. Far bigger nights and DJs have met the same fate than Viva Trance.

No one likes to see someone fail, so I'm not going to sit here and say it was someone's fault, or they deserved it, ultimately, maybe there was a lack of cash/foresight/planning and hence it's gone under. I just feel sorry for people involved directly with the night, esp Tara, who's gone out there to no job, and Carl, who was looking forward to it more than anyone. If he was as gutted as I was then I know how you feel mate, and I was only there for 2 dates..... frown.gif

From my point of view I feel like a twat now, as I'd waited ages to tell people i was booked there, only for me to have to retract this about 3 weeks later. I am gutted beyond belief but I guess it wasn't my money, apart from a return flight. I'm not 100% sure if I'll be playing out there at all now this summer, tho there are a few things in the pipeline. But, though this is not the first time this sort of thing's happened to me, it's the worst time.

I hope everyone learns from this.... it's a big pile of sh1t all round really disappointed.gif

Solution - go out ther anyway and make the most of it! I know I will.... icon_yippee.gif
