CTW Members Bungle Posted June 26, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 Anyone know the laws about noisy neighbours? I don't have music on very loud, but ny neighbours have started moaning about it. They just came round and had a go at my dad. He told them that they're noisy aswell, but we put up with it. So the thick [censored] from next door wasn't too pleased and started shouting bollox that hes going to have something done about me. I always thought that to get anywhere with a noise pollution complaint it had to be after midnignht. Am I right? Or does anyone know the vague jist of noise laws in general? CTW Moderators Maria Posted June 26, 2003 CTW Moderators Share Posted June 26, 2003 My neighbours posted a letter of complaint thru my door a few weeks ago, because they nocked the door to ask if I could turn the music down (I was on my decks) but I didn't hear them nock ! They were more apologetic about them complaining more than complaining about the noise ! Quote ClubTheWorld.com's OFFICIAL Events Reviewer

CTW Members Louise Posted June 26, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 its 11 o'clock if its in a housing est, but if they get the police involved they have to keep a diary over 2 weeks of when you have your music on loud, iv been through it myself, start to panic if you rent your house cus the council gets involved and they can evict you after 2 warnings

CTW Members Bungle Posted June 26, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 My mummy and daddy own the house and have lived here for bout 30 years. So it's not like a land lord can through us out They've got a big [censored] off daog that barks all day and night and two screaming kids that own a kareoki machine. Not a good combo. They give as good as they get so I really don't know what they're going on about. Quote Anyone fancy a bongle with bungle?
CTW Members Bukey Posted June 26, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 26, 2003 If I were you, I'd keep a diary for 2 weeks of all *their* noise pollution... When they next come round and complain, show them a copy of the diary, and explain unless they start behaving themselves then *you'll* be forced to call in the police and hand over the diary. That should shut them up. I've just recently had this happen at my house, a man from the enviromental council came round to see me, as far as the law goes there is NO exclusion time for noise, it can be morning, afternoon, night. When ever they get a claim of noise disturbance they have to act on it. The neighbours had to keep a diary of what they classed as disturbance for 3/4 weeks. Luckily the man told me this, so I kept the noise down for that time and the case was dropped. Quote 👶
