I downloaded Norton Antivirus 2003 and Norton Personal firewall 2003 off [illegal website]!! SORTED!!! That's illegal. Also, I don't know CTW's official stance on this, but most online forums have strict rules about publicising sources of pirated/cracked software. I've got a perfectly good freeware firewall on my PC called ZoneAlarm, which I'd recommend to anyone who is connected to the internet. CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 27, 2003 I can't stop you from being a thieving pirate, but CTW could get in trouble if it appears to condone law-breaking, or provides information on how to do so. There is a good reason why most websites have a strict ban on this. God you have to be so correct dont you There's no need to be defensive. CTW Members Bukey Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 27, 2003 Don't wanna pay for anti-virus protection? But want to get a legitimate piece of software? http://www.grisoft.com Quote w: www.bukeytheloon.com e: cunt@bukeytheloon.com msn: msn@bukeytheloon.com Other CTWers verdict of Bukey "Another Glowstick waving loon..." - @Bungle "A bit off your tree..." - @baby-rabit "NUUUUTTTTEEEERRRR!" - @Phil rr
CTW Promotors Lisa Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Promotors Share Posted June 27, 2003 but if you have norton anti-virus already is ok to download this too?? not to bright when it comes to pc's etc!! CTW Members Bukey Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 27, 2003 If you've got Norton, then there's no need.... *But* if you've got an illegal copy of Norton, I'd uninstall that and put AVG from Grisoft on. I don't know what version of Norton you've got - but do you get regular updates (weekly) for it? (BTW, I use Norton myself) Quote w: www.bukeytheloon.com e: cunt@bukeytheloon.com msn: msn@bukeytheloon.com Other CTWers verdict of Bukey "Another Glowstick waving loon..." - @Bungle "A bit off your tree..." - @baby-rabit "NUUUUTTTTEEEERRRR!" - @Phil rr
CTW Promotors Lisa Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Promotors Share Posted June 27, 2003 no its totally legal hun... Quote Techno, Techno, Techno
CTW Members Bukey Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 27, 2003 Then don't bother with AVG... Basically, if you haven't got a legal copy, chances are you're not getting the updates... That's why you'd be better with AVG. I don't judge anyone with illegal software - that's not my place to do so.... CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted June 27, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted June 27, 2003 Must confess, piracy gets on my tits. It's common theft (only difference is, you don't have to peg it away from some security guards with the software stashed under your jacket). It would be pretty ironic for me to condone piracy (I write software for a living - if everyone pirated it then I'd be out of a job!)
