Cheers Danny Ya right though, I probably WOULD benefit more if I put better known tunes on my mix cds (Mark H also suggested this), but I would feel as though I am cheating myself and any promoters who book me by doing that... At the end of the day, I want my cds to be a representation of me and my DJing style/ability... Although putting big tunes on would make it more appealing, its not what I would play if I obtained a booking from it and I would much rather promoters booked me knowing exactly what to expect and why. The stuff on my cds is what I enjoy the most and best represents this - true, its not always appealing to everyone because there are a few obscure style/tracks on them, but thats just the way I am (hell, my new cd starts with a nu-skool breaks tune and finishes at over 160bpm lol - it will be available as soon as I can afford to send them out!) At the end of the day, some people love the variation, and others are not too keen which unfortunatly I cant help - BUT....I would much rather them hate my cd, then love my cd and hate me if/when they see me DJ live! Maybe, but im stubborn as [censored] when it comes to music and dont intend to change my styles for anyone! If promoters dont like what I play, thats their loss The fact there are people out there that DO like the stuff I put on my cds makes me realise there is no point changing my style because there MUST BE promoters out there into this stuff, cos its obviously not just me thats into it
