CTW Members Magicman Posted July 7, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted July 7, 2003 You probably don't need anything too heavy, but I just got some JBL Control 1s, which I think are probably a bit light for the job really.. what do you reckon? CTW DJs Chris-Hutchinson Posted July 7, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted July 7, 2003 Sorry ;-) I got some yamaha studio monitors.... dunno what model they are (cant be arsed to run upstairs and look), but they keep me happy and sound great (cost just under 600 quid for the pair as well which is a bit less then the Genelecs hahaha)

I used to use a set of Wharfedale Valdus 100's and some Valdus 400's for main Now i use 2 sets of Valdus 400's running from 1 Technics SU808 4 channel Amp, and Alesis monitors (Dunno the model numbers mate, sorry) from another SU808 Amp, which still leaves me two channels on this amp for 2 more speakers
CTW Members Blink Posted July 8, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted July 8, 2003 Majik, try some of the music companies, like Turnkey and Digital Village, they do studio monitors, which will give you a flatter, clearer response than "consumer" products I am running a pair of Absolute Zeros, which I think you can pick up now for about £160/pair, they got good reviews as budget monitors when they came out, and I think they are rated up to about 85W, which I find is more than enough for bedroom usage
