CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted July 22, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted July 22, 2003 Hi peeps, my mixer is knackered, and as it is only a Vestax PCV 003, I was wondering if it was worth getting it fixed, or saving up for a new one. What would people recommend in the £300-400 range, as I'd really like to hear some opinions, cos I don't believe I'm the most knowledgeable in this area!!! Thanks peeps!! Quote I'M HUNGRY! CTW Members Pulsar Posted July 22, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted July 22, 2003 I think the Vestax PCV 275 is in that range, i'd get that, its a sweet little mixer. Althought this does depend on what u want really. Quote www.fuseconnected.com ~music~washes~away~from~the~soul~the~dust~of~everyday~life~
Guest
I use a PCV275 and it's a quality mixer! only bad point about it that springs to mind is that there's no curb adjustment (but I suppose this isn't entirely necessary) failing that save up and buy a DJM600 The PMC55a I have also is a serious bit of kit, but a little out of your price range by the look of your post
Guest
allen + heath Xone 32 would be worth looking into...
CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted July 22, 2003 Author CTW DJs Share Posted July 22, 2003 Ooooh, it looks loverly!!! I've found out I can probably get my one fixed on the cheap tomorrow, but I do want to get a new mixer in the near future!! I've had a go on one of these before, and I thought it was really nice, so me might treat myself with my first wages!!! Quote I'M HUNGRY!

CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted July 22, 2003 Author CTW DJs Share Posted July 22, 2003 No, it is one of the channels. It has not sound coming out, but I can still hear the tune in the headphones. Has that Allen and Heath got filters/ FX on it??? Quote I'M HUNGRY!
CTW Members Pulsar Posted July 22, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted July 22, 2003 The A&H Xone:32 has 1 VC Filter, no other effects. The A&H Xone:62 has 2 VC Filters, which are assigned to either side of the x-fader. These VC Filters are the best filters you can buy, they are unbeleivably lush and responsive, giving your incredible mixing options. There's 3 settings for the filter, high, low and band pass, and a resonance control. If u want loads of effects, go for the djm 600. If u want and effect that lets you effectivly control exactly what sound you desire, save up a bit more for a Allen & Heath Xone:62. CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted July 22, 2003 Author CTW DJs Share Posted July 22, 2003 What does a "VC" filter mean??? When you say it has 1 filter, does that mean it can only filter the overall sound, not just filter 1 channel??? Please put things in simple terms peeps, cos I don't do technology lingo!!! The DJM600 mixer is quality (I would say that tho cos I use it lol) cos it will automatically beatmatch the fx with the tune so they sound in time when you use them! They used to have a 32 @ Bar2Sixty in Birmingham and im SURE you could assign it to a channel..... Been a while since I used one though

I suppose if you use it often you would get used to them... I have only ever used it in clubs and always find I apply too much as its hard to judge with the knobs... CTW Members Pulsar Posted July 22, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted July 22, 2003 They used a Xone:62 at Base, and i beleive they have one at camden palace. It was also club installation mixer of the year. Quote www.fuseconnected.com ~music~washes~away~from~the~soul~the~dust~of~everyday~life~
CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted July 22, 2003 Author CTW DJs Share Posted July 22, 2003 Yep, I thought the one at Tidy was that. I've had a quick mix on the 23 one and I thought it was really nice. I don't really get how to use the filters on the Pioneer one, as I have never had the chance to work out how they work, as I have only used them in clubs. When I played at Frisky, they had this huge mixing desk, but the filters were really easy to use - you just pressed the button to align it to the the bass, mid or treble on either side of the X-fader, and then played with the knob (oo-er!!)
