shoot me if I'm wrong but firewalls watch out for different ports? won't msgr popups be sent using the same port that all other msgr traffic is sent (and ur firewall is already letting this through)?

and its not the same port as msn so technically it can be bloked by a firewall whilst still letting msn run

 

I get no messenger pop-ups when my firewall is up, and when I take it down to allow file sharing, I get pop-ups. make of that what you will.
