Why Are People So Anal About Music Genres?

Why do they feel they have to slag a certain type of music off just because they dont like it or it isnt their preferred genre... ok not everyone is gonna like one kind of music as if they did it would be a very boring world we live in... but why feel the need to slag/slate the genre/kind of people who like the genre off... there's just no need in my opinion!!

i slag of sterio types

 

ie i hate the sterio typical hard trance. theres sum hard trance stuff i like, but they break the mould slightly 1 way or another

But why do u feel the need to slag it off? You dont like it, others do.... doesnt make u look better than anyone else/anyone who likes HT by saying it does it?!

 

This isnt havin a go... but im confused as to why people feel the need to do it!!

claire - i have to be aware that alot of the time people rnt 'slagging off', thier offering thier critaziums or opinions

 

like i say i h8 hardtrance. i say its too formulaic etc. i'm not saying that the people who listen to it r tossers so wheres the problem in what i said.

 

its like top gear can say that car x is naff cuz it doesnt do x but car y is great cuz it does 0 to 130 in 3rd gear alone. my point is, thier reviewing a car and saying whats up with it. thats what most people on her do with genres. they say that the masses of productions out on label x is naff cuz its too blah

But theres sooo many more posts where i have noticed people bitchin about genre and the kind of people who like the genre... i just wondered why they cant just pipe down a bit rather than say "its shite" or"people only like it cos theyre [censored] on drugs" kinda comments if u get me?

 

Im all for people havin an opinion, but when other peoples opinion gets slagged off it confuses me as to why people feel the need to do it?!

i am actually quite offended by that comment. the style i mix is 1 of the most open styles of collected genres i have heard (bar mr whitbys)

 

i go to clubs 4 music ranging from house, breakbeat, techno, harddance. i've even been witnessed dancing to dnb and i openly admit its not to my likeing.
