CTW Members Bukey Posted August 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 14, 2003 Yout know the specification for a completely secure computer? - No drives (hard, floppy, CD, DVD or any other you can think of). - System running from ROMS. - In a secure datacentre. - No display/output peripherals (monitor, printers, et al). - No input peripherals (mouse, keyboard, scanner, et al). - No network connectivity (NICs, cables, et al). I can't remember the name of the specification, but it will give you a pretty uselss, but secure, machine... CTW Members Cherry Posted August 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 14, 2003 Hi Maria My bf is a computer engineer and has given me McAfee.com Personal Firewall Plus. I'm guessing, as he's a bit particular, that's it's probably pretty good.
CTW Members Phil rr Posted August 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 14, 2003 i've got Zonealarm from kazaa (after i got infected on sunday - best way). got no idea whether it's doing anything but it's meant to be the best 1 out there. i really wanna have a proggy that lists all my ports, and when something bad comes in says "danger will robinson". how cool would that be

Extra bolt-ons wouldn't be though. There'd be no way to interact with it, therefore no way to breach security.
