CTW Members Trudes Posted August 16, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted August 16, 2003 claire - how is the house hunting going? u found a nice one yet hun? abe - seriously though the noises aren't there all the time, i've lived on my own in this house for over 2 years and its only been the last few months that i've actually been aware of the noises, and in an earlier post it literally sounds like someone is tapping on the windows at the front of the house and on the front door, though when i've looked out to see who it is as i don't normally open my front door theres no one there and the street is completly deserted. now that to me is just strange and its not because my mind is playing tricks on me cos i'm home alone, i've heard it even when theres been someone else in the house with me, so how do u explain that one Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I dont know how it happens but it does. Also, if you hear a strange noise once then your subconscious kicks in and amplifies every other noise so they sound worse. The taps on the front door are probably either the wood expanding and contracting from the heat of the day and cooler air of night...or if you aint got wooden doors...its probably moths banging against the door trying to get to the light...OR IT COULD BE GHOSTS...but they cant hurt you anyway so theres nothing to worry about. CTW Members Trudes Posted August 17, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted August 17, 2003 gee thanks mr ginge, but its not a wood door, and the tapping is on the windows as well, also i already do keep a broom handle by my bed, it may come in handy one day, and don't worry xpaulax no noises are going to make me move, i've decided to put my music on louder than normal so i can't hear them.
