CTW Members JoeDrawb Posted August 19, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 19, 2003 Wonder if any of you can answer this for me... I can mix together a good set with my Hard Dance and Trance vinyls, no problem...the mixing is pretty spot on for a bedroom Dj. But for some reason sometimes I have trouble holding a mix together with my funky/prog house tunes, they seem to go off beat fairly quickly and are harder to keep in place with making adjustments...not all the time, just every so often.. I've got Numark TTX1's so the torque is pretty good, someone told me that mixing HH / Trance is much easier than house so maybe it's just I haven't spent enough time on the funky tunes....ahhh well only 5 mins then i've finished for the day, home time Quote chilled out beach house thru to bangin' hard german trance http://stores.ebay.co.uk/worldwidevinyl

Guest
Ive always found mixing faster bpms is easier than slower ones. If your mix is slightly out with house it will sound alot worse than a slightly out hard house or techno mix. just my opinion
CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted August 19, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted August 19, 2003 Agreed, my U.S and old garage stuff is much harder to mix than me hard stuff, but it's good practise, as it will make the harder stuff seem easier, and teach you how to really get your mixing tighter! Guest
No thats probably due to the fact that most proggy stuff is soooo boring and you probably struggle to stay awake let alone mix them.

Bollox. You mean mix hard house and have no challenge ? There's no way you can create a musical landscape like you can with progressive. And if it's so boring, why are so many people into Sasha then ?
