[ Suggestion ] - Deletion of event suggestion posts where member has made few posts ...

We seem to get about 5 or so newbies posting/advertising event suggestions when they dont actually have any intention in joining our community at all.

 

From now on any events posted by people with fewer than 10 posts will possibly be deleted.

 

People who post an event suggestion as their 1st post will almost certainly have that post deleted !

Well I thought long and hard and its entirely possible that someone makes an amazing Welcome Newbies post and then posts an event suggestion - which in which case is obviously fine.

 

Just wanna try and put a stop the ones who are using this site to profit.

BUT once they have posted about their event 10 times they willk have over 10 posts and this rule wont apply?!

i don't think ti's that stict a rule claire, basically if people only post about their nights and nothing else then the posts get deleted. And anyways, if their posts get deleted cos all they ever do is post about their events, then they'll never get over 10 posts!

You could have an advertising forum and dump all adverts in there.

We used to have that kinda thing, a "promote yourself" forum!!

Not one of those 10 posts will be counted as a post as they wont exist due to being deleted.

 

There's no hard and fast rules as such - basically anyone abusing the forums will have their posts deleted.

If people want to advertise then they will have to pay for the privalege.

We used to have a 'Promote Yourself' forum but then I thought why should we ? - and people were still posting in other sections as well as the promotion section!

 

Now I can see where 4clubbers come from with their strictness - although we wont go 'that' strict on deleting stuff - just where its blatent abuse / from someone who doesnt have the slightest intention of becoming a 'member'
