Apologies to anybody who feels this thread may have stepped out of line - I've been unable to get on line and moderate due to the virus issues of late (that and the pathetic gits in my IT dept.)

ANYWAY, this debate has had its moments and been highly amusing too at points, but could I remind everybody to stick to the forum rules.

Please be serious...(especially you CREAMY!)

Please do not be offensive and please have respect for other peoples' opinions and lifestyle choices.

Anybody who wants to start a 'look at the state of those cyberkiddies!!' post, please feel free to do this in 'Jokes...' or 'Random Bollox'.

Keep it out of here.

Any constructive comments...please go ahead...

Such is human nature.

i guess there are many different responses to that:

- that's how it's always been and there's nothing to be done about it...

- a lot of crap and evil in the world persists because of attitudes like this and something can be done about it...

everything thats been said before, +...

1) do you want to wear a certain type of clothing

2) do you reserve the right to laugh at people for certain things

both cases is yes.

number 2) has a fine line between satisfying your own amusement, and causing someone else grief. alcohol plays a big part in this.

what the second thing comes down to, is more a human nature thing: are you the sort of person who is happy to make someone else feel uncomfortable because they're doing something in particular.

that says more about the person laughing, than the person they're laughing at

I find what some people wear, to be funny. I wonder what that says about me? shrug.gif

Just because you don't accept someone's opinion, does not make the fact that they forced it upon you any more acceptable.

Sorry I don't understand what you mean here

People were saying that they are entitled to find cybers funny, so I was saying that although people have the right to find cybers funny, they do not have the right to force that opinion onto people (i.e. Going up to them and laughing at them). You said that you don't have to accept other people's opinions, which I agree with, I was merely saying that although you have don't have to accept their opinion, it still is not right for them to force it upon you.

Does that read OK?

Capn, I think everyone finds what some people wear funny, it is how you act on it which says something about you.

I think everyone has murderous thoughts (or is it just me?) but it is only murderers that act upon them.

It just goes to show you what a small minded world we live in, we see something abit different & we have to respond by laughing & taking the piss!!!!

It's peeps way of responding to things out of the norm IMO!!

What a boring world if we all thought the same, dressed the same & acted the same!! nod.gif

Laughter is also another emotion close to fear..............

the whole cyber thing just amuses many people because i think we find it strange how some folk who dance to music at 138bpm+ feel compelled to dress as if they're robots from the future.

besides, as has been said in countless threads before, it's not even original any more. the execs at Cyberdog Ltd have proved that you can market pretty much anything to the chemical generation if it's bright enough. giving people the belief that you wear these clothes and you'll be "individual"? what, just in the combination of different Cyberdog top and trousers you're wearing?

there's a contradiction somewhere here.

Well IMO Tom, maybe its not so different, per say, but it does get a reaction & some peeps like that!! Look at the punk era for example!!

If the person feels comfy wearing bright bold clothing then, so be it & good luck... If cyber clothing goes well with harddance/trance genre, so what, hoochie mamma, burberry goes well with R&B etc, it's all about fashion at the end of the day & peeps choices!!

Has it ever occured to you that people might wear these because they like the way it looks?

You don't say "People should stop wearing Levi's cos it just isn't original any more"

And every clothes manufacture tries to convince people that wearing their clothes makes them individual.

Anyone who wears any off-the-peg clothing and thinks they are original is merely deluding themselves.

Cyberdog clothing is popular because they do (some) good (if expensive) designs, well made, and have got their name out there. There are plenty of other makers of cyber clothing out there, but who is gonna spend £50 on a top over the internet from a manufacturer you have never heard of?

I laugh at some mates for what they wear, they do the same to me (we expect it of each other). I don't go upto strangers and laugh, I may chuckle to myself (at a distance), because its like a visual joke to me. I just can't help it when I see fads.

Perfectly thank you smile.gif

IMO I don't think people laugh at 'Cybers' ... just what there wearing ... it's not personal thing shrug.gif

again just my opinion but I laugh at the drunks staggering up the street and back again but its nothing personal to them.
