CTW Members Phil rr Posted August 28, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted August 28, 2003 it's ver 2.4.2, it's fooking great. have just upgraded from 2.0.2, the new ver can be set to automatically 'hammer' your senders, to try and boost the speed automatically. so u don't come back to ur pc after 2 hours and find 1/6 filesends at 0.6k/sec, they're all at 10-20-30k... Doesnt always work though...I've been waiting for "Freddy Vs. Jason" to download for ages and I aint turned my pooter off for nearly 2 weeks Somethings download quickly like "Pirates of the Carribean" (damn good film too) but others are still very slow. Im getting broadband in a week or so, and want to start d/l ing some dvds, but havent a scooby doo how to go about it. ie: im guessing i'll need some sort of program to rip the files or something ?? CTW Members Phil rr Posted August 28, 2003 Author CTW Members Share Posted August 28, 2003 (edited) you right click on the file and go to....wait for it....accelerate -> options (told u accelerate was ok) close, neway. there was the option b4, but it was manual, and you had to select it using the menu, repeatedly, for every single file. now you can just go to the accelerate section and kazaa will do it all for you, whenever you tell it to. obviously u'll only download films as fast as the files are physically out there connected to the net. Liam - downloading films is a piece of piss, download kazaa lite (what ginge said) and start to play with it -- best advice. most of it's self explanatory, there are some things you'll just find out as u go along....like film quality...size...files being wrongly named ( ). preview them before you spend any time downloading em so u know they are actually what they say they are. ripping dvd's is (my housemate says) dead easy, but you need a few tools for it. go to www.doom9.org for some cracking reading... irc (internet relay chat) and places like that are ok, but a bit 'yesterday'. i found more ppl are on the kazaa network than irc channels. kazaa lets u have multiple sources for any particular file, so u cang et your full 50k/sec download speed Edited August 28, 2003 by Phil_raa Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
