yeh i know what u mean, thats why i read a book that i've seen on tv or film, although i generally find the books better than the tv series or film.

except the Dead Zone, the series on sci fi is much better than the book by Stephen King

"Autobiography of a serial Killer - Pee Wee Gaskins"

Not sure who wrote it but its an awesome acount of one of Americas most prolific serial killers. Great Read.

Plus - Red Dragon, Silence of the lambs, Hanibal (trilogy) deffo deserve a place in your collection.

Discworld are wicked for light-hearted, but well-crafted fantasy. If you like a slightly harder edge, try The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen Donaldson - amazing, totally blew me away...and read them half a dozen times since. If you want more sci-fi, try Donaldon's 'Gap' series. For something a little harder, darker try Richard Morgan's 'Altered Carbon'...really makes you think.

If you love Harry Potter (thought they were great!) try Phillip Pullman's 'Dark Materials' trilogy.

Been reading a lot of non-fiction of late...Club Confidential by Fred Owen is a grim but fascinating insight into the burgeoning dance / drugs scene in New York / Miami in the late 80s and early 90s. For a deeper insight into the rise of Acid House culture in the UK starting with that fateful Ibiza holiday in 1986, through Shoom! up till 1997, try Altered State...can't remember the author, but it's on Amazon.

[censored]! Don't ask me about books ^^^^look at the state of that lot! blush.gif

Rick,

Prepare to be impressed. Stick with the first 2 chapters...the rest will fly by before you've noticed...I didn't move for 4 days except to go to the bog or eat...I try and read them once a year...
