Ive had a fucking wicked idea

Alot of the problems have arisen lately through stuff like this

"you deleted my post and it was fine...your a cunt"

"it was against the rules....."

"What faaaarking rules"

"these ones"

"this site sucks & blows all at the same time"

Well what i think is make the mods anonymous, obviously we will find out eventually who are the mods, but if we dont know who deleted what and the mods never EVER justified their reasons apart from one statement there would be less personal attacks and bitterness.

my 2 pence

hmmm I disagree with you Jay, sorry.

When you delete / edit / move a post, it is a professional manner to PM the person who composed / posted / made any comments that were against the rules, to say why it was deleted / edited / moved, to prevent repetitivness.

Of course this person may take it the wrong way / disagree with the action taken (as some have) and can easily, publicly slate the Moderator for doing so, if they thought the wrng action was taken. Which then leads to arguments / slagging matches.

It wouldn't work.

can you not pm them from a group login name that you all use. you can continue moderating how you are, just with no name.

be basic and straigh to the point and they wont guess who it is.

also i have never had a pm telling me why one of my posts has been deleted. that bollocks

moderators are wankers.....

ya understand

I think is an good idea, it will keep pressures of the mods, as they will not be pin pointed as Jay states, in post's, ie *hey Kev why did you delete that you arse*, maybe the pm could be signed moderator poss from an account purely set up for all mods to use, if that can be done as I have no idea about pc's etc confused.gif

I think the members need to know who the mods are personally - I think if it was anon it would lead to more speculation about why this or that was deleted and would force us to have to justify things even more than we're already doing.

People should respect the rules and the mods' decisions. I know we dont always get it right but in time we'll learn by our mistakes ... We are still a very in-experienced site. Of course we all feel we shouldnt 'need' moderation - we didnt in the old days - but now the site is bigger we simple 'have' to have it.

I personally hate the idea of housekeeping and having to watch threads/posts - its very boring - but it needs to be done sadly.

An addition to the forum rules could say...

"The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to delete posts that break the forum rules without warning or explanation".

Sounds a bit harsh though.

I don't do much on this planet, but David Blaine has taught me that I could do less!!

yeh good idea but not the without explanation part, an explanation goes along way & will poss stop the why did you delete malarky!! thumbs.gif I think a pm should be sent either before or after a post is deleted, this will IMO make life easier thumbs.gif

This is currently in the rules (soon to be renamed to 'Guidelines' though, thanks Don)

"The owners of the ClubTheWorld.uk Forums have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. "

I do agree with this Jay, but why should the mods HAVe to hide behind an anonymous account - it's a sad state of affairs when it comes to that.

I agree totally Alison, but is this not how James feels at the moment?? & also if the mods were to go anon for a while, the only peeps really recieving the pm's will hopefully be the so-called trouble makers & if they do not like then tough, then they can go else where to cause trouble, hence leaving the site with only people that abide by your/Kev/James etc forum rules!! thumbs.gif So possibly as temporary measure??

Bollocks mate - in the 'I need some TLC' post, you wrote something that I edited and then PM'd you about. spliff.gif Ring any bells?

Also if you are moderated, without being informed why, could you (or anyone else) tell me please?

Ta!
