I don't see the big deal about having a pre-release tune, it doesn't make you a good DJ! I have no qualms about mixing 3 or 4 year old tunes into my new CDs. Besides, unless you spin really well known tracks, it's not as if anyone is going to know how old the tunes are! i agree, it shouldn't boost ego's too much, but some of the time DJ's are trying to get talent scouted or whatever, or even just impress someone in the crowd they know might be there. surely, as long as it fits the set, dropping a rare or brand new tune shows they do have some of the skills it takes to be a good DJ (ie, new, good tracks)? mebbe
CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted November 13, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted November 13, 2003 Chris - of course there is a wealth of excellent tunage that hasn't/ will never be released - just that some of it is deservably not signed! And Edge1 'compounded' is a classic Quote I'M HUNGRY!

CTW DJs LittleMissLoud Posted November 13, 2003 CTW DJs Share Posted November 13, 2003 I really love all that old hardcore of the 90-93 era, just don't like the stuff now! Whoops !! Quote I'M HUNGRY!
CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted November 14, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 14, 2003 I'm with LML re the quality of unreleased material. It's a lot more hit-or-miss! 95% of the white labels I've listened to in shops have been shite. Nearly all unsigned MP3s etc I've heard on the web are lacking in some way, and probably could not get signed. Yes of course some unreleased stuff is good. We're just saying, it hardly reflects on the DJ's abilities just because he's got a load of exclusive white labels or whatever.
