definitions of different styles of music

Please add and alter descriptions for different styles of music and add genres and subgenres. If u edit mine i dont care cos im not too up on defining these types of music.

Most are intentionally left blank as i dont know how to define them.

Please also add any production examples

 

House -

 

Funky House -

 

Techno -

 

Acid techno -

 

Trance - originated from techno in the early 90's from artists who wanted a bit more melody in the music but keeping techno beats.

 

Hard House - house music with harder basslines

 

Hard Trance - Hybrid between the tunes of trance and the harder beats and basslines of hard house.

 

Hardcore -

 

Hardstyle - uses basslines of hardcore but more hard house style beats and tunes. Also at a hard house speed. eg. tracks from nukleuz black record label

no just trying to define different styles of music so that different people who dont know wot a style of music is about can find out wot its about

imo theres only: house, techno, trance, hardhouse, breakbeat, dnb and hardcore. the rest is just different 'styles' of the genre

U mean subgenres, which are ok to add to the list.

no i ment styles. i've given up on subgenres as the moment one is created (like hard trance) some1 will create a tune thats slightly different and someone else will feel the need to give it a new subgenre.

 

imo hardtrance is only a style of hardhouse etc
