CTW Members Scream Posted November 28, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 28, 2003 ok i'm not name droppin, but when i spoke to maddox he said he prefered cubase 5 as he knew his way around it totally as compared to cubase sx. So i assume it's changed a bit, but i wouldn't know as i've never really used either. use logic that kicks ass!!

CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted November 29, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted November 29, 2003 I think Cubase SX is better in almost every way (and that's coming from someone who has used VST for years). * It's more powerful * It has a much better interface * It's more stable

CTW Admin James Posted December 3, 2003 CTW Admin Share Posted December 3, 2003 SX's interface is soooo much slicker than the old versions and easier to navigate IMO on a side note, is there really no one here who uses Cakewalk Sonar ? CTW Members ReBirth Posted December 3, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted December 3, 2003 I also prefer SX's interface, but I do find it a tad annoying that they changed so much compared to Cubase 5....and it always seem to crash on me But it's EXCELLENT for MIDI. I've playd around with it quite a few times and I have to say, I like the interface, and I found it to be very stable Well I confess I've only played around with it for 20 mins on a demo and found it a bit confusing as the screen is quite muddled (compared to SX) - but I was wondering why not many of my friends/people here use it as I see magazines market it as "America's favourite sequencer". On the face of it it just looks a little 'too' involved but I'm sure it and SX do as much as each other. I have settled on Cubase now though as it just 'feels' more natural to me. CTW Admin James Posted December 4, 2003 CTW Admin Share Posted December 4, 2003 not for fooking ages mate - well at least not a complete song for ages - I tend to just fook about with cool chords, loops & rifts and never actually get anything done! Only literally getting back into the whole thing now mate - I had a few years off so to speak (marriage!) Rest assured I will be firing up lots more questions in these forums soon though Quote James@ClubTheWorld.uk CTW Admin | ClubTheWorld.uk | Twitter | Instagram Clubbing the world, together ... CTW Members LiquidEyes Posted December 4, 2003 CTW Members Share Posted December 4, 2003 Same situation here Jim - no finished tunes to speak of, only doodles and ideas. I look forward to tune-swapping in the medium-term future!
CTW Admin James Posted December 4, 2003 CTW Admin Share Posted December 4, 2003 Who knows - may be I'll do a 'demo' CD of just the 'doodles' but I wouldnt want anyone stealing them to complete their own tune lol ! My problem is concentration and focus to get something finished - I can keep pissing about and tweaking it because I'm never happy - so much so that once I've finished the tweaked version sounds NOTHING like the original - which actually sounded 'ok' to being with - doh ! I'm thinking of getting on a proper course in London actually - so I learn can apply myself better. I also know hardly anything about mastering.
