Can anyone explain to me what hardstyle actually is???

I was told in a nut shell it were a hardhouse beat with a short breakdown that consists of a few words and sum evil riffs.None of this trancy [censored] that sum of these mags say it is. Im so confused

its a narrowly defined style harddance labelled as a genre by pendantic people who think theyre in some way better than the hardhouse massive

imo hardstyle has some good ideas, but not enuf substance to be labeled as a genre

i was under the impression that Hardstyle was sorta hardcoreish, wiv the breakdowns cut out,so u get just dirtyness all the way. The BPM is slowed down a bit tho. There r some quality tunes out on Nukleuz Black. Im prob gonna get slated for this now
